Yesterday, we released our updated state rankings update, for the 2025 class, now that the fall season has come to an end.  Throughout the fall, our staff traveled across the state, to see as many prospects and teams as possible, and we were able to see more prospects than we've ever seen before.  Our state rankings for the 2025 class expanded to 330 players in total for this update, and there were plenty of movers and shakers throughout the list.  Today, we take a look at a few guys that made a move up in this rankings update.

STATE RANKINGS RISERS (2025 CLASS)

+ 2025 C Andrew Clapinski (Catholic BR HS)

The LSU-Eunice recruit was a staple on the Bears State Title team last spring, after hitting .396 with a team-high 6 HR and 45 RBI.  Clapinski continued that success into the summer circuit and into the fall, as he performed at a high-level for the Knights Knation 17U Scout group.  He'll be an integral part of the bears success again this season, and moves up to #22 in this rankings update.

+ 2025 MIF Mason Canter (Covenant Christian Academy)

Canter was a standout performer at our 2023 State Games event and showed well again at this year's State Games back in September at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.  He's a solid defender up the middle of the infield with smooth actions, soft hands, and a solid arm across the diamond, and has one of the sweeter left-handed swings in the class.  The Nicholls State recruit moves up twenty-two spots in this update to #38 overall.

+ 2025 RHP Mac Griffin (Walker HS)

We liked our first look at Griffin last spring for the Wildcats, in which he dominated a good Dutchtwon lineup, and it was easy to see why at our Senior Games event back in September.  He's still got a ton of room to add strength in a lean and wiry 6'1" 150 lbs. frame.  Griffin sits 84-87 mph with his FB and spin rates up to near 2500 RPM's, but it's his feel for spin on his 72-75 mph SL that's the real separator, as the pitch has elite spin rates in the 2654-2917 RPM range.  He struck out five and only allowed one free pass at what was one of the best outings at this year's Senior Games, and he's also super young for the class, as he won't turn 18 until April of next year.  The Walker product is one of the best available uncommitted arms in the state's 2025 class and breaks into the Top-100 in this update at #97.

+ 2025 RHP Garrett Frye (West Monroe HS)

6'0" 180 lbs. athletic and durable frame with a strong lower-half.  Frye returns for his senior campaign as part of a talented Rebels pitching staff that will look to repeat as State Champions this coming spring.  The West Monroe product was a big winner at our North Louisiana Fall ID at Louisiana Tech.  He showed both a four-seam and two-seam FB at the event in the 84-87 mph range with ride & run through the zone, while also showing the ability to kill spin with a 78-79 mph SPLT, as well as a 77-78 mph SL for strikes.  Frye is another really good uncommitted arm in the state's 2025 class that jumps up to #98 in this state rankings update.

+ 2025 RHP Troy Green (Slidell HS)

Green showed well at our Senior Games event back in early September, and performed even better at our State Games event later in the fall.  The Slidell product is an athletic mover down the slope with a quick arm, and he works at an up-tempo pace to attack hitters with a 85-90 mph FB, along with feel for a solid mid-70's breaking ball.  Much like Griffin and Frye above, Green is an excellent uncommitted arm for college programs looking to add to their 2025 class, and enters the state rankings at #100.
