TOP 5 DEEP DIVE
Tanner Conley LHP / Fontainebleau / 2028Rankings StateRank: 1 / POS: 1
A two-time member of our Junior Future Games team, Conley takes the top spot in our initial State Rankings for the 2028 class. The Fontainebleau product owns a low-mid 80's fastball with ride through the zone and a sweeping low-mid 70's slider that has the potential to be a true out-pitch. He also owns a quality mid-70's changeup with late-fade to complete his three-pitch mix. Conley has also showed some pull-side pop from the left side of the plate, however, his highest upside likely lies on the mound. |
Cole Albert RHP / Vermilion Catholic / 2028Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
Long and lean 6'4" 170 lbs. frame with a ton of projection left. The two-time former Jr. Future Gamer turned in a really good outing at our State Games this past fall, even though he was one of the youngest players in attendance. Albert uses a long, loose, and easy arm action to release the ball from a 3/4 slot. His 80-83 mph fastball shows arm-side sink & run, and his low-mid 70's changeup plays well off his heater. It's easy to dream on what Albert will likely be in 3-4 years, which is one of the reasons why he debuts at the #2 spot in our initial State Rankings release for the 2028 class. |
Brock Blessington RHP / Sam Houston / 2028Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2
6'3" 175 lbs. frame with room to still add more strength as he matures. The Sam Houston product is another former Jr. Future Gamer that has the chance to be really good on the mound. Blessington sports a low-mid 80's fastball that averages nearly 19" of IVB. His low-mid 70's breaking ball has also shown flashes with spin rates in the 2400-2500 RPM range, and he can also kill spin with a 78-80 splitter. If Blessington can command his fastball and land his secondary offerings for strikes, then he's got a shot to help the Broncos this spring.

Cooper Babin OF / Catholic BR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
There are some guys that just hit and Babin looks to be one of those guys in the state's 2028 class. The Catholic BR product works from a slightly open and upright stance, and takes a direct and on-plane path to contact staying through the plane of each pitch to extension. Babin can drive the ball from gap to gap and he's shown the ability to make good swing decisions, which is something that most younger prospects don't show. Will he stick in centerfield long term remains to be seen, but he looks the part of one of the best hitters in the class, which is why he debuts at #4. |
Carter Falgoust LHP / OF / E.D. White / 2028Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 3
Earning varsity playing time as a freshman is tough to do, let alone as an eighth grader, but that's exactly what Falgoust did this past spring. The E.D. White product is a silky smooth mover down the slope with a clean arm path. His fastball sits in the low-80's and he can locate to all quadrants, while also showing feel for both a breaking ball and changeup. With a loose and easy arm action and a lean and athletic 6'1" 150 lbs. frame, it's easy to project the jumps that lie ahead for Falgoust, who opens up at #5 in this initial State Rankings release for the 2028 class.
