Quick Hits: Hahnville Scout Day
January 13, 2025
Boutte, LA - On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff traveled to Hahnville High School, to host our Hahnville Scout Day, which featured prospects from the Hahnville baseball program in the 2025-2028 classes. Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60 yard dash using Vald Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball. Pitchers finished the day off by throwing live to hitters with Trackman Baseball to receive all of their data and metrics. Below, we take a look at some of the top performers from Saturday's event.

+ 2027 1B/OF Kaleb Guarisco (Hahnville HS)
We really liked Guarisco when we saw him last spring as a freshman for the Tigers and he continues to prove that he's one of the best bats in the state's 2027 class. On Saturday, he took two stellar BP rounds, as he showed the ability to drive the ball to either gap. It's a really simple set-up and operation and he does an excellent job of getting his barrel on-plane early, and stays on the plane of each pitch through extension. He can handle pitches in any part of the strike zone and can impact the ball to all fields. During live at-bats, he picked up two hits with one being a towering homerun to dead centerfield. Guarisco will be a must-see this coming spring and summer, as college recruiters begin to focus in on the 2027 class, ahead of August 1st.

Took some of the best swings on the day. Gets on plane with every pitch and can drive the ball to all fields. Had ✌️hits in game with one being a HR to dead CF in the last clip 👇. #BeSeen@ShooterHunt | @AlexArmandPBR pic.twitter.com/1BKDvhHekD
+ 2026 RHP Ja'Vonte Gray (Hahnville HS)
6'5" 200 lbs. projectable frame that's easy to dream on. The former Future Gamer looked sharp in his outing on Saturday against live hitters and looks primed for a breakout spring for the Tigers. Gray was all over the strike zone and did an excellent job of commanding his 85-88 mph FB to the glove-side where he collected several in-zone-misses. He also flashed a sharp 77-80 mph SL and he was able to kill spin with a newly added 79-81 mph SPLT. Gray remains as one of the top uncommitted arms in the state's 2026 class and will be a high-follow this spring.

The former Future Gamer was stellar in his inning of work today with 3️⃣ K’s. FB command was on point and he’s added a SPLT. One of the top @PB_Uncommitted arms in the state 📈. #BeSeen

+ 2027 OF/RHP Koa Romero (Hahnville HS)
Physical 5'10" 225 lbs. frame. Romero is coming off a football injury from the fall, so we were unable to see him on the mound, but he made his presence felt at the plate. He works from an quiet, upright stance before aggressively rotating his lower-half to turn the barrel to contact. His outputs were loud off the bat, especially from the middle of the field to the pull-side, as he recorded an event-best 96.2 mph max exit velocity. Romero and Guarisco should make for a deadly "one-two" punch at the top of the Tigers order this spring.

Another talented LHH for the Tigers who was an All-District performer as a freshman last spring. Compact, tight, & explosive turn with a max EV of 96.2 mph. Good follow for the spring. #BeSeen@AlexArmandPBR | @Tyler__Leary pic.twitter.com/uBx18PZlDL
+ 2027 INF/RHP Landen Teague (Hahnville HS)
This was our first chance to see Teague up close at one of our events, and we've definitely circled his name as a guy to follow moving forward in the state's 2027 class. A "QB1" on the gridiron for the Tigers, Teague looks like your classic "throwback" type of player that can impact the game in a variety of ways. He's a solid defender on the infield and pounded the strike zone on the mound with a three-pitch that included a low-mid 80's FB. At the plate, he works from an upright stance with rhythm in his hands and gains some ground forward through his load and stride. He looks to make contact out front, while working mostly to the pull-side with a max exit velocity of 93.2 mph.

Looks to whip the barrel head out front and flashed some pop to the pull-side with a max EV of 93.2 mph. Solid defender on the infield as well. #BeSeen@AlexArmandPBR | @Tyler__Leary pic.twitter.com/J9jOmCHwP0
+ 2028 OF/LHP Austin Sanchez (Hahnville HS)
Athletic 6'0" 162 lbs. frame with room to still project for more physicality as he matures. The Tigers are beaming with young talent in their freshman and sophomore class, and Sanchez was a guy that definitely stood out. He starts in a slightly open and upright stance before using a simple load and stride to get to center. Sanchez does a really good job of keeping his weight centered during his forward move, which allows him to get his barrel on-plane early, and he keeps his barrel on plane through extension for a long time. During live at-bats, he belted a pull-side homerun off a pitch that was up and in on his hands, showcasing the ability to get the sweet spot of the bat to the ball on a tough pitch. Sanchez will undoubtedly have his name etched in our next State Rankings update for the 2028 class, and will be a guy that we'll follow closely moving forward.

Good look at a talented freshman for the Tigers. Got off some good hacks during BP and capped the day off with this pull-side HR. #BeSeen@AlexArmandPBR | @Tyler__Leary pic.twitter.com/1VNBm92S3t
