2021 Future Games: Team Massachusetts - Top Performers

The tenth annual Future Games took place on July 28-31 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2023 and 2024 participated in one of the most popular events each year.

There were 32 teams, including Team Massachusetts, with players representing 38 states plus Canadian prospects. 

More than 330 scouts from across the country were looking on as approximately 500 players participated in this year’s event.

2021 Future Games: Team Massachusetts - Top Performers

Team Massachusetts went down to Georgia and showed out amongst some of the top uncommitted prospects in the nation. The 25 prospects who participated showed why they earned the invite to the prestigious event. Below we highlight some of the individuals who stood out.

Overall MVP

Evan Blake 3B / SS / Taconic, MA / 2023

Report: Had 7 RBI in 3 games during the event. Put together a good approach at the dish, hitting a grand slam to right center and doubling to right center. The ball to bat skill set is excellent and he also showed extremely well as a defender at third base.

Best Pitching Performance

Colin Dowdle RHP / St. Sebastians, MA / 2023

Report: Lanky right-hander who cruised through his two inning stint at the event. He showed a fastball with life up to 88 mph. The spin pitch is a wipe out slider that was up to 77 mph. The frame projects and his best are in front of him.

Best In Game Hitting Performance

Alex Marot 3B / SS / Winchendon School, MA / 2023

Report: Went 5-8 on the week as he was an offensive force. The pitches found his barrel more often than not. He projects to be a middle of the order hitter at a major college.

Best Workout Day Performance

Andrew Manning OF / Boston College, MA / 2023

Report: Andrew ran a 6.66 at the workout and had an exit velocity of 103 mph. The body is athletic and he moves extremely well on the bases. He shows an above average arm from the outfield as well.  He has a bright future.

Best In Game Defender

Chris Walsh SS / OF / Duxbury, MA / 2023

Report: Athletic right-handed hitting shortstop who was impressive throughout the event. He made all the plays in the field and shows a good feel for the middle of the field. The arm is short and clean, ideal for the transfer at the pivot. He has quick feet and plenty of arm.

Best Workout Day Defender

Jayder Raifstanger SS / 2B / Monument mountain, MA / 2023

Report: Excellent all-around player who does everything very well. The glove is soft, the feet work appropriately and he shows a simple, effortless throwing path. The defense is a strong suit as he can play anywhere in the infield.

Best Base Runner

Gabriel Pitts OF / SS / Worcester Academy, MA / 2023

Report: Ran a 6.39 sixty at the workout and the speed translates to the game. He swiped 5 bags with ease during the game play. His jumps and feel for the steal game are advanced for his age.
