Season Outlook
The 2016 Cougars have a nice core of returning players and will need a few to step into their own this season after playing complimentary roles in 2015. Leading the way on the offensive end will be catcher Connor Fletcher coming off a strong season hitting .325 for Chesapeake. Junior 3B Andrew Revels looks to also build off a strong 2015 campaign where he hit .330. Sophomore Joe Seidler also returns after hitting .360 during his freshmen year and should build off that successful season. Keep an eye out for 2017 Dillon Oxyer, an interesting infield talent that showed well at two PBR Maryland events over the summer/fall. Some players that Chesapeak will need to replace include Kyle Davis and Justin Snyder.

The mound looks to be a strength this season with Dustin Gosnell leading the way coming off a 6-0 season with a 2.00 ERA. Seidler should contribute after going 2-1 last year. Chesapeake goes eight deep with a nice young nucleus of five arms coming up from a JV team that went undefeated last season and never trailed a game. Coach King hopes that can transfer to the Varsity level for this year. Keep an eye out for the Cougars as they are always a tough team to beat and hope to have a nice post season run this upcoming season.
