Season Outlook
Most programs would face a tough battle having to replace the firepower that Parkside lost from their 2015 squad. Gone are Hunter Parsons(40th Rd. pick of the Indians, currently at University of Maryland), Brady Shreeves (George Washington), Jack Goertzen (Shippensburg), La???Bron Hilliard, Dalton Swanger, and Nick Forbush. Yet with all that transition, the Rams once again should be a team that will compete at a high level in 2016. New faces will play a key for Parkside in their quest for a championship in the tough Bayside conference as well as a state playoff run.

Matt Smith will head up the Ram offense in the middle of the lineup. Committed to Towson, Smith is a left-handed power threat (.304 BA, 3 HR ) with the most experience on the roster. Connor Shockley missed the first part of the season with an injury, but still managed to hit .514 for Parkside in just under 40 AB???s and man the middle of the infield. Tolan Harrison and Lucas Holmes both had on-base percentages around .400 last season in part-time roles and that experience should translate well this season. Keep an eye out for C Andrew Smith, the younger brother of Matt who is an interesting young player with some bat speed from the left side..

Talented LHP Grant Burleson will step into the role at the top of the Rams pitching staff this season. The athletic lefty has fast arm speed pitching in the upper 80???s to go along with strong secondary pitches. He will look to build off his 2015 season (3-1, 1.04 ERA). The pitching staff as a whole has plenty of quality depth and will have to identify who goes where in the rotation. Keep an eye on LHP Sean Fisher, who has a lanky frame that should pitch in the mid-80???s, to play a bigger role on the staff this year. Other pitchers that will log innings include Shockley, Harrison, and Colin Green, who will also add depth to the infield.

Most of the roster this season will have to transition into full time roles on the team. The majority of the players mentioned all contributed to the team last season and played against tough competition with their summer programs. Look for another solid season from the Rams in 2016.
