Season Outlook
St. Pauls have a wealth of experience returning for the 2016 season with seven seniors and four returning underclassmen returning from the 2015 squad. Leading the offensive attack will be Spencer Horwitz, an All-MIAA performer and preseason PBR Maryland 1st Team All-State selection. The Radford recruit and left-handed hitting prospect is one of the top hitters in the state and will be a staple in the middle of the Crusader lineup. Horwitz will play primarily in the infield this year but will also see time behind the plate, his primary position. C Jake Sebastian will add stability to the order as another threat.  Also pacing the offense will be outfielders Jon Clemons and Tony Schultz. The Crusaders have a nice sized group of JV players from last season coming up and will also vie for playing time along with adding much needed depth to the roster this season.

On the mound, St. Paul’s will be led by seniors Liam Flayhart and Schultz.  Both arms have the ability to give the Crusaders a chance to win every time they step foot on the mound.  Keep an eye out for sophomore Peter French to see an increased role on the mound this year after seeing time as a freshman last season. The team will need to improve their overall defense to keep them in games as last year it hindered them at times. Consistency from the top to bottom of the lineup will be key.
