It's an odd year to say the least with counties and conferences across the state beginning their seasons at different times. With some already underway, we turn our attention to another that will open their season this week; the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference. Inside the SMAC there are 14 schools between Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's County that compete. Furthermore, those schools are divided into two separate divisions; Chesapeake and Potomac. For now, the Potomac Division comprised of all of the Charles County schools will begin their seasons with the Chesapeake division schools opting to begin later in May. Each team in the Potomac division is currently slated to play 18 games (three-games against each Charles county opponent). Below is the breakdown of Potomac division as well as a complete "Watch List" of players you won't want to miss in action this spring. 

Note: A preseason questionnaire was sent out to all Maryland high school baseball coaches in Mid-January to gain pertinent information for this piece but not all forms were completed and returned. Below is a compilation of information received as well as thoughts from our staff at PBR Maryland.
