2021 Washington County Season Preview

It's an odd year to say the least with counties and conferences across the state beginning their seasons at different times. With some already underway, we turn our attention to another that will open their season this week. In a normal year, the seven Washington County schools play inside the Central Maryland Conference with Frederick County. But this year isn't normal and Washington County has decided to start games this week with Frederick County schools still having yet to begin spring sports. Hancock will not field a team in 2021 leaving just the remaining six schools to play each other two-three times filling out an 18 game schedule. Below is the breakdown of the Washington County schools as well as a complete "Watch List" of players you won't want to miss in action this spring. 

Note: A preseason questionnaire was sent out to all Maryland high school baseball coaches in Mid-January to gain pertinent information for this piece but not all forms were completed and returned. Below is a compilation of information received as well as thoughts from our staff at PBR Maryland.
