Carroll County

Century Knights

2024 Record: 13-9

It should be another strong year for Coach Poe at Century, as the Knights return depth on both sides of the ball. Seniors Chase Speiden and Austin Schulze are both key two-ways that the Knights will rely on for depth on both sides of the ball, as Junior Dominic Califano looks to take that next step and take over the "ace" role this spring. Senior Ben Welsh is a dynamic athlete that should sure up the middle of the diamond defensively and add some consistent AB's at the dish. The Knights will go as far as their depth takes them, and if Califano can take that next step and be consistently dominant on the mound, look for Century to make a run at the county title and possibly make some noise across the 2A.

Francis Scott Key Eagles

2024 Record: 8-10

The Eagles turn the page to 2025 with high hopes, as Key returns a plethora of impact guys on both sides of the ball. A Senior heavy group, look for 2024 First Team All-County recipients in Colton Feister and Nate Hobbs to head this roster. Hobbs and fellow seniors Aiden LeFaivre and Brady Kies should get the bulk of the innings on the bump with Senior Ben Hasty providing depth on the back end. Feister and Collin Parker are ones to watch offensively, with the likes of standout two-ways in Hobbs, LeFaivre and Kies providing depth. With all this experience and depth that Key has at their disposal this spring, this may be the year that the Eagles shock the County and make a push.

Liberty Lions

2024 Record: 16-5

The Lions, led by head coach Travis Inch has been one of, if not the team to beat year in and year out across Carroll County, and 2025 should be no different. The return of standout playmakers with the likes of Seniors Nate Martin, Braeden Chubb and Junior Carter Shanks puts Liberty right back at the top of our preseason predictions to take the county once again. Chubb and Shanks are a nice one-two punch at the top of the rotation, and look for Senior Chase Miller to add some reliable innings on the back end. Nate Martin is arguably the top player across the county and looks to build off an impressive junior campaign and lead the offense, with Chubb and Shanks solidifying the middle of the order.

Manchester Valley Mavericks

2024 Record: 11-9

It will be a different look for the Mavericks in 2025, as Man Valley graduated a ton of impact players from a year ago, most notably, their top arm in Gene Magin. Look for younger brother Grady Magin to take that next step and lead this pitching staff, while also providing key AB's in the middle of the order. All-Conference First-Team recipient Liam Ziegenfuss will need to repeat his standout Junior campaign and be a threat in the middle of the order.

South Carroll Cavaliers

2024 Record: 7-12

2025 looks to be a rebuild year for the Cavaliers, as the loss of Hayden Rathmann to graduation hurts. A bright spot however, will be the emergence of one of the top sophomores in the state in Jackson Wineke, a physical infielder with a lot to like on both sides of the ball. Look for Wineke to lead this offense and certainly add his name as one of the top players in this county.

Westminster Owls

2024 Record: 12-9

A storied program across Carroll County for years , Westminster looks to be in a pretty good spot to compete for a county title in 2025. The loss of standout Clayton Dorsey to graduation certainly puts a dent in this offense, however, the return of power-hitting infielder Will Mollman and a slew of other upperclassmen is intriguing. Senior Chase Taylor and Junior Brandon Barrett are two of the top arms in the county and make up a nice one-two punch at the top of the rotation, with Barrett, Garrett Denkenberger, Griffin Vincent, and John DaVia all providing depth being Mollman in the order. If the depth holds up, and this offense can produce consistent runs, look for Westminster to make some noise this spring.

Winters Mill Falcons

2024 Record: 2-14

There's a little bit of optimism for Coach Davis and the Falcons entering 2025, as Senior Aidan Koerbel is back and should take that next step this spring at the dish. Juniors Landon Buchman and Ben King are two more names to watch as they look to provide depth on both sides of the ball. Plenty of question marks remain for the Falcons, however, there are pieces that make this roster intriguing to watch as the spring rolls on.
