We continue our spring high school previews and projections with a look at 15 "Picks to Click" as we inch closer to the 2025 baseball season. Highlighted in these stories are players that we believe are in contention for "Player of the Year" or "Pitcher of the Year" and we will give a detailed analysis, including video on each. Next up, we would like to highlight UNC-Wilmington recruit Casey Carpenter from John Carroll High School.

Casey Carpenter 3B / 1B / John Carroll, MD / 2025

A 2023 Future Games alum, Carpenter possesses some of the most explosive power in the state and is one of the more feared offensive talents in the MIAA. Coming off yet another strong '24 campaign, we look for the 6-foot, 190-pound corner infielder to take that next step in 2025 and lead John Carroll on both sides of the ball.

Quick, explosive hands with the ability to spray backspun line drives to all fields is what separates Carpenter from most, and we believe he is on the cusp of really breaking out on the power side of the game. The body continues to fill out and the strength is becoming more and more evident by the day, and we look for 2025 to be the year that Carpenter makes a serious run for the top positional player in the state.
