We continue our spring high school previews and projections with a look at 15 "Picks to Click" as we inch closer to the 2025 baseball season. Highlighted in these stories are players that we believe are in contention for "Player of the Year" or "Pitcher of the Year" and we will give a detailed analysis, including video on each. Next up, we would like to highlight JMU recruit Will Haacke from Calvert Hall High School.

Will Haacke OF / Calvert Hall, MD / 2025

Potentially the highest "helium" guy entering the 2025 spring season, Haacke undoubtedly took that next step throughout the summer/fall of 2024 and has put himself in the conversation as one of the top position players across the state. A standout performer at our Mid-Atlantic State Games in August, the James Madison commit put up eye-opening metrics that included 98.8 max exit velocity, 92 mph outfield velocity, and a 6.58 60-yard.

A Calvert Hall program that is littered with positional talent, Haacke should be the guy that solidifies the middle of the order and provide a thump consistently. Power numbers should rise and we anticipate the high average, high contact rate to remain the same, allowing for the plus speed to be a huge factor. If the Cardinals want to make that push to knock Spalding off their throne in 2025, Haacke will need to be a huge part of it.
