It was a steady victory for the Stags of DeMatha as they cruised to seven runs off of ten hits while sophomore Jack Bulger went six innings of two-hit baseball in the DeMatha 7-0 victory over Good Counself on a chilly Monday afternoon.

The game was a standstill through the first two innings with Bulger throwing two no-hit innings and Good Counsel starter Jake Sandridge shutting down the Stag offense. In the third inning that would change as Michael Williams would double to left field and Thomas Keehn would knock the first run of the game in with a double down the left field line. Clark Burroughs would then knock in Keehn two hitters later, giving the Stags a 2-0 lead.

DeMatha would extend their lead in the fourth, adding four runs. Burroughs had another RBI up the middle with one out. Timmy Pyne would knock in two runs on an RBI double. The Stags would add their fourth run in the inning off a Good Counsel error.

DeMatha would add their final run of the game from the bat of Bulger, connecting on a line drive homerun to left field, giving the Stags a 7-0 lead which would be the final score.

Bulger pitched well for DeMatha, going six strong innings of two hit ball, striking out 10 and 1 walk. Jordan Jeletic would pitch a perfect seventh for a combined shutout victory.
