Player: Randy Bednar
Position: OF

School: Maryland

A former PBR Super60 participant whom the Braves selected in the 27th round in 2017, Bednar is a tooled-up player with a track record of performing in the Big Ten. He’s shown improvement each year, highlighted by a breakout sophomore campaign in which he hit 12 homers in 58 games. He was off to a red-hot start to the shortened 2020 season (.387 in 15 G) and mostly picked up where he left off in early ‘21. He impacts the ball consistently from the right side, showing the ability to hit for average while also flashing power potential, albeit with a bit too much ground-ball contact at the present. His patient approach nets him walks and fuels his on-base skills, and he earns high marks for his baserunning savvy. Bednar’s above-average arm strength fits well in right field, and his similarly-graded speeded enables him to play all three outfield positions if needed.
