The Dulaney Lions pound out 18 hits and break open a one-run game in the fifth inning to take a commanding 15-6 victory over the Fallston Cougars on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lions would score the games opening run in the bottom of the first inning after three consecutive singles would load the bases to start the inning and freshman Todd Mozoki hit a sacrifice fly to right for the games first RBI. Fallston would get out the inning after that with the score 1-0.

Fallston would respond in the second inning when Kyle Moody's well hit groundball was misplayed and would score senior Mason Mullaney to tie the game at one. Dulaney would respond in a big way an inning later.

The Lions would explode for six runs in the inning, starting it off immediately with a solo homerun from the bat of 2019 Bryce Frederick. 2018 Nolan Matsko (Georgetown) would single the next hitter, steal second, move to third on an errant throw from the catcher, and later score on a single from Brian Ellis to make the score 3-1. Five of the next seven hitters would reach base and four more runs would cross highlighted by Hayden Williams 2-RBI single, making it a 7-1 game.

Fallston would come back on their own with five runs in the top of the fifth inning. Everette Cox supplied the first RBI single of the inning, and a Connor Pickle double would drive in two, highlighting the inning. Freshman Jake Bogdan's RBI single to right would score pickle, and Fallston turned the game into a one-run affair at 7-6.

Dulaney would then press on the gas and account for the final eight runs of the game in the fifth and sixth innings. Williams would get three more RBI with a three-run shot to left field in the sixth inning. Will Behm would drive in three runs between the two innings. Cole McGee would drive in two as well with a deep double to center. The Lions would have a 15-6 lead heading to the top of the seventh, which they would hold onto for the victory.

Williams led Dulaney going 2-for-3 with 5 RBI. Michael Bernhardt added a 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, Behm was 3-for-3 with 3 RBI, Frederick, Matsko, and senior Jack Tarantino (Johns Hopkins) each had two hits apiece.

Pickle led the Cougars with his two RBI on a 1-for-4 day at the plate. Cox was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
