The 2015 Prep Baseball Report Eastern Shore Showcase took place on Tuesday, July 7th at the Delmarva Shorebirds stadium in Salisbury, MD. 35 prospects from the Delmarva (Delaware/Maryland) area in the 2016-2019 class put their ability on display in front of the PBR scouting staff and college coaches from around the area.

Over the course of this week we will be releasing position-by-position analysis articles with scouting reports on each player and identifying the top prospects. Two-way prospects will appear in a positional analysis as well as a pitching analysis. We shall identify top performers in each positional breakdown along with a younger talent (2018, 2019) as a Future Watch if applicable. 

Today we look at the Pitchers that participated in the event. Let’s take a look at the participants.

TOP PERFORMERS

Trey Fisher LHP Chincoteague (VA) 2017
Athletic frame at 6-foot 178-pounds. Controlled delivery throwing from a ¾ arm angle.  Sound arm action with quick arm speed.  Pitches with easy effort and smooth rhythm.  Fastball has downhill action and late run and sink to the pitch at 81 mph.  Breaking ball has 12/6 action and shows potential power pitch at 65 mph with near fastball arm speed on the pitch. Change has slight run on the pitch with near fastball arm speed at 71 mph.

Tyler Dunn RHP JM Bennett 2016
Frame with room fill out at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot, almost over-the-top. Short arm action and quick arm speed. Works downhill and has some rhythm.  Gets a tall balance with level shoulders.  Fastball has slight run to the pitch at 82 mph.  Drops down and throws from a side arm angle with good run and sinking action at 80 mph.  Breaking ball has 11/5 action and tight rotation with late break at 69 mph. Interesting arm that could develop into a nice side arm option as well. 

Sean Fisher OF/LHP Parkside 2017
Long frame at 6-foot, 180 pounds. Throws from an almost over-the-top arm angle.  Sound arm action with some arm speed. Will get more velo once gets more lower half in finish. Controlled deliver with some rhythm.  Fastball has late run on the pitch up to 85 mph. Breaking ball has 1/7 action with gradual movement at 62 mph.  Changeup was a strong pitch with late fade and sink at 69 mph. Good command of the pitch and nice action on the pitch. Unfinished product will be interesting to see how he develops as he gets more lower half involvement in delivery. 

FUTURE WATCH

Tyson Johnson RHP/OF Kent County 2018
Solid frame at 5-foot-9 160 pounds.  Has a controlled delivery controlled delivery with a quick rhythm.  Shoulders are slightly uphill but does not work against delivery.  Creates quick arm speed with a sound arm action. Pitches with some effort. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball has slight run to the pitch up to 82 mph. Breaking ball has tight rotation and late break to the pitch with 11/5 action.  Throws the pitch with near fastball arm speed at 70 mph. AS pitch gets more consistent, should be a nice late breaking pitch.  Change up is thrown with near fastball arm speed and has fade to the pitch at 74 mph.

Brady Parks LHP Sussex Tech (DE) 2018
Lanky frame with growing left to do at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds. Has rhythm and nice tempo in delivery. Has a shorter arm action with quick arm speed.  Pitches with some effort. Get some lower half into mechanics and occasionally falls off to third base. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball shows sinking action to the pitch at 80 mph and command. Breaking ball has 1/7 action on the pitch with gradual break thrown with near fastball arm speed at 65 mph. Slightly cuts the change up but occasionally gets more fade to the pitch. Throws it with fastball arm speed at 70 mph. Interesting LHP to keep an eye on.

Jacob Booze SS/RHP JM Bennett 2018
Athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Throws from an over-the top arm angle with a long arm action. Pitches with regular effort. Fastball has slight run on the pitch at 71 mph.  Breaking ball has gradual movement with 12/6 action at 59 mph.  Change up has some fade and sink to the pitch at 67 mph. 

Grant Evans OF/RHP Cape Henlopen (DE) 2019
Athletic and projectable frame at 6-foot-1 148-pounds. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle with a short and quick arm action and average arm speed. Pitches with regular effort and in line.  Stays in line with slight fall off to the first base side.  Fastball and gradual run at 71 mph.   Breaking ball has gradual break and 11/5 movement with near fastball arm speed at 59 mph.  Change up is straight at 61 mph.

Colin Green SS/RHP Parkside 2017
Frame with room to fill out at 5-foot-11 140-pounds. Fluid rhythm in a controlled delivery.  Pitches with some effort. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action and some arm speed.  Fastball has slight run to the pitch at 77 mph.  Breaking ball has 11/5 action on with tight rotation and gradual break at 64 mph.  Changeup has fade to the pitch with near fastball arm speed at 71 mph.

Andrew Hart SS/RHP Broadwater Academy 2018
Compact frame at 5-foot-7 155-pounds.  Controlled delivery with some rhythm.  Longer arm action with average arm speed. Has some usage of lower half although could get more involved in his finish a follow through. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball has slight sink on the pitch at 71 mph.  Breaking ball has 12/6 movement and nice roatation with potential for power at 62 mph. Throws the pitch with near fastball arm speed.  Changeup has cut and sink to the pitch.  Slows down slightly on the pitch at 63 mph.

Jared Hickox RHP/2B Dover (DE) 2017
Athletic frame with room to fill out at 6-foot-1 155 pounds.  Has a controlled delivery with nice rhythm and tempo.  Has a longer loose arm action and creates quick arm speed. Clean lower half and could get more usage of it.  Throws from an almost over-the-top arm angle with nice direction, level shoulders and square landing.  Fastball has late run action to the pitch with command at 78 mph. Breaking ball has 12/6 action with gradual break.  Slows down the arm slightly. Shows nice rotation and potential to the pitch. Change up is a nice pitch with late sink and fade.  Throws the pitch with near fastball arm speed at 67 mph.  Interesting prospect in the 2017 class to monitor progress.

Seth Konkel LHP Homeschool 2017
Lanky frame at 6-foot-1 175-pounds.  Has some rhythm in delivery with earlier hip load to keep continuous balance. Has a longer arm action and creates some arm speed. Has foundation with lower half.  Throws from an almost over-the-top arm angle and does a nice job of working fastball downhill. Fastball has slight cut action to the pitch at 77 mph. Slow his arm down on 1/7 breaking ball.  Pitch shows nice rotation and potential shape to get more out of the pitch at 64 mph.  Changeup has near fastball arm speed with a little sink at 72 mph. 

Abraham Mow 3B/RHP Milford (DE) 2017
Athletic frame at 5-foot-10 165-pounds with room to add strength. Has a controlled delivery with rhythm.  Pitches with regular effort.  Long, loose arm action with some arm speed. Stays square with lower half and uses it well. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball has slight run to the pitch down and arm side at 80 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape and near fastball arm speed at 66 mph. Changeup has nice fade and sink to the pitch with near fastball arm speed at 71 mph.  

Cade Rousseau 3B/RHP JM Bennett 2016
Athletic frame at 6-foot-1 185-pounds.  Slower tempo in controlled delivery.  Loose arm action and fast arm speed. Pitches with some effort.  Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball has slight sink action to the pitch at 82 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with near fastball arm speed.  Will improve with consistent hand positioning.  Change up has some fade to the pitch at 76 mph.  As he continues to repeat a delivery has interesting arm speed.

Brett Swift 3B/RHP JM Bennett 2019
Good frame with room to fill out at 6-foot 175-pounds.Some rhythm in his slower tempo controlled delivery. Square landing.  Could get more lower half usage in pitching. Long arm action with average arm speed. Fastball slight movement to the pitch at 73 mph. Breaking ball has gradual break to the pitch at 63 mph with near fastball arm speed. Changeup has fade to the pitch at 65 mph.

Caleb Walston RHP Washington 2016
Lanky frame at 6-foot 155-pounds. Nice hip load in lift, would like to see better lower half usage after wards. Pitches with regular effort and stays in line direct to the plate. Loose arm action and average arm speed.  Shoulders are slightly uphill and will fall towards 1B at finish slightly.  Throws from an over-the-top arm angle. Fastball has slight run to the pitch at 78 mph with command. Breaking ball has 11/5 acton to the pitch with gradual break.  Near fastball arm speed at 68 mph. Changeup has some fade to the pitch at 71 mph and near fastball arm speed.

Hunter White RHP/3B JM Bennet 2018
Solid frame at 5-foot-10 175-pounds. Smooth delivery with balance.  Falls off 1B side on finish.  Pitches with regular effort. Shorter arm action and creates some arm speed. Like to see more lower half in finish. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball has slight run to the pitch at 75 mph.  Throws a cutter at 73 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 movement and early break at 66 mph.  Pitch shows some shape and potential.
