The Fall Underclass Invitational took place on November 5th 2016 on the campus of Harford Community College. Over 40 athletes were in attendance in front of the PBR Maryland scouting staff as well as colleges from around the region. Our coverage continues  with evaluations from the outfielders that attended the event.

Keegan Bentz OF Easton 2018
Projectable frame at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds. Ran a 7.77 60-yard dash with a 1.88 10 yard split. Hits from a taller slightly open setup with high hands. Leg kick with slight weight shift back in load. Level bat path with average bat speed. Exit velocity of 74 mph. Active feet in the outfield, works thru the ball well. Loose arm action throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Throws have average carry on them at 73 mph.

Nick Brown OF Archbishop Curley 2018
Strong projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash with a 1.84 10-yard split. Hits from a taller athletic setup at the plate. Smooth quick load with some rhythm throughout. Short path to the ball with fast bat speed. Barrelled ball well and showed some extension through contact. Works thru ball well in the outfield. Could keep momentum working in throws. Throws from an over the top angle. Throws have some carry on them and were accurate at 80 mph.

Miles Christian OF St. Mary’s 2018
Lanky, athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash with a 1.82 10-yard split. Hits from an athletic setup. Smooth load back to hitting position with some rhythm throughout. Get some lower half involved, could get a little more explosion from backside. Short swing path with average bat speed. Exit velocity of 85.  Active feet in the outfield, worked thru the ball well, clean exchange with quick, Shorter arm action throwing from a three-quarter slot. Throws were accurate. Outfield velocity of 74mph. More in this tank.

Brandon Cook OF St. Mary’s 2018
Athletic, lanky frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash with a 1.81 10-yard split. Hits from a square, athletic setup. Smooth weight transfer back in load with double tap. Level swing path, hands stayed inside the ball well, let ball get deep on him at times. Shows strength and has some bat speed and projection. Exit velocity of 89 mph. Athletic in the outfield. Moves well, confident first step. Clean exchange with a loose arm action. Outfield velocity of 87 mph.

Brady Drawbaugh OF Saint James 2019
Projectable frame at 6-foot, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.67 60-yard dash with 1.9 10-yard split.Hits from an athletic, square setup. Short quick load with knee turn trigger. NIce rhythm throughout. Short, direct path to the ball with average bat speed, should get better as he continues to get stronger. Nice job of getting barrell on ball. Showed gap-to-gap ability and should have potential to drive ball as he develops. Exit velocity of 83 mph. Active feet in the outfield, worked thrun the ball well. Clean exchange with a long arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Outfield velocity of 77 mph.

Peter Godrick OF Archbishop Spalding 2018
Compact, strong frame at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds. Ran a 6.98 60-yard dash with 1.7 10-yard split. Hits from an athletic setup. Short weight shift in load and lands slightly closed. Good lower half involvement. Shorter hand path with some bat speed. Stays inside the ball.  Exit velocity of 89 mph. Athletic in outfield, sound actions, clean exchange, shorter arm actions throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Throws were accurate. Outfield velocity of 75 mph.

Josh Mann OF River Hill 2018
Solid frame at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Did not run. Hits from taller, slgihtly open setup with higher hands. Shorter, level swing path, pull type hitter. Spins slightly, could get better extension through contact. Exit velocity of 75 mph. Active feet in the outfield, short choppy steps. Quick arm action throwing from a high three quarter slot. Outfield velocity of 76 mph.

Mitchel Orf OF Stephen Decatur 2018
Compact solid frame at 5-foot-9, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash with a 1.71 10-yard split. Hits from a wider athletic setup Short, quick load. Stays involved in lower half. Quick hands with level swing path.  Exit velocity of 81 mph. Quick, confident first step in the outfield. Clean hands and exchange with a shorter arm action. Throws from a lower, three-quarter arm slot. Outfield velocity of 67mph.

Austin Warrington OF St. Mark’s (DE) 2018
Athletic, stronger frame at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash with a 1.81 10-yard split. Hits from a strong athletic setup. Short quick load, nice rhythm. Level swing path to the ball that gets slightly uphill at times. Show some power potential with nice extension. Exit velocity of 89 mph. Active feet in the outfield, clean exchange, works thru ball well. Short arm action throwing from a three-quarter slot. Outfield velocity of 72 mph.

Ethan Wentzlaff OF Damascus 2018
Athletic frame at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Ran a 6.99 60-yard dash with a 1.7 10-yard split. Hits from a balanced, square set up. Shows nice rhythm in swing. Short path to the ball with a middle approach. Level swing path with good extension through contact. Good use of bottom half and hip drive. Exit velocity of 94mph.  Active feet in the outfield with soft hands and a clean exchange. Has quick, compact arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm slot. Throws from the outfield had good carry at 85 mph.
