Friday marks the end of the regional playoffs in Maryland after a hectic week of sectional play and today’s games for the region championship and a state tournament birth. Heading into the match ups lets first take a look at the scores from the make-up games yesterday.

1A

Pikesville 15, Benjamin Franklin 0

Reginald Lewis 4, KASA 3

Northern Garrett 8, Fort Hill 3

2A

La Plata 7, Patuxent 2

Southern 4, Gwynn Park 1

Now every regional final is set for in the MPSSAA.  Here is all the contests with a quick note on every game. All the games now are a game to watch.

4A

East: Severna Park v Leonardtown
Tale of two teams as Leonardtown has made it thus far scoring 18 runs in their two games while Severna Park has yet to give up a run in their two games played.

West: Quince Orchard v Bethesda-CC
QO gets to the regional finals after a big win over last years 4A champ Gaithersburg.  BCC has been playing inspired baseball heading into the Region championship.

North: Bel Air v Howard
Bel Air has been another team that has rolled on with strong pitching and timely hitting. Zack Radcliff is coming off a no-hitter in Wednesday’s game with Catonsville Howard gets here after a big win over previously unbeaten Sherwood.

South: Bowie v Laurel
Bowie has been most consistent throughout the season in PG county and it has resulted in their trip to the region final. Laurel is building off their two big wins over Parkdale and DuVal.

3A

East: Chesapeake v Mt. Hebron
Should be an exciting matchup with both teams capable of making it to the championship game in Ripken. Mt. Hebron playing good ball at right time while Chesapeake has been a top ten team in the state for the majority of the year.

West: Damascus v Linganore
Damascus has handled their opponents thus far outscoring their opponents 25-8 in two games. #3 seed in section II Linganore has made an impressive run thus far.

North: Lansdowne v Aberdeen
Aberdeen is hoping to build off their big wi over North Harford on Wednesday to vault them into states.  Lansdowne is wanting to continue to roll after outscoring their opponents 39-12 in three games.

South: Huntingtown v Rockville
Rockville has cruised thus far and look to have their toughest challenge against a strong Huntingtown squad that has also won handedly over their opponents in the tournament thus far.

2A

East: Fallston v Queen Anne’s
Queen Anne’s showed resiliency coming back from a 6-1 deficit to defeat Easton in 10 innings on Wednesday.  The eastern shore rep will have to face a tough Fallston team playing solid baseball this year.

West: Williamsport v Marriotts Ridge
This matchup might be one of the more interesting games of the day.  Marriotts Ridge is playing very good baseball at the moment coupled with the fact they more than held their own this year in Howard county. Williamsport has rolled comfortably so far this tournament and want to keep that going.

South: La Plata v Southern
Defending back-to-back 2A state champs look to make it a three peat and will face their toughest challenge yet. La Plata has moved convincingly through a tough bracket and want to continue this run.

North: Western STES v Eastern Tech
Eastern Tech has their sights on making it back to states again and Western STES will be a formidable challenger that has other plans.

1A

East: St. Michaels v Washington
St. Michaels should be the favorite in this matchup but Washington might be the hottest team going in the state right now. Like the way St. Michaels play the game and the Saints show some depth on the mound.

West: Northern Garrett v Brunswick
Brunswick is once again playing their best baseball at the right time and hope to continue this roll against a Northern Garrett squad that has rolled outscoring their opponents 19-4 in two games.

South: Pikesville v Reginald Lewis
An impressive run Pikesville is having outscoring their opponents 60-1 in three games.  Can Reginald Lewis slow them down?

North: McDonough v Patterson Mill
Another top quality matchup with two teams playing great baseball all season facing off for the region title.  Patterson Mill has been battle tested having to come back and win in extras in their last game while McDonough has rolled thus far and will be going against their toughest opponent so far in the tournament.

MIAA

Calvert Hall v Gilman
Cardinals will have to forget about the tough loss to Spalding losing in walk-off fashion. Gilman should make things interesting in this matchup to get to the Finals.
