WEEK 2 MARYLAND JUCO CONFERENCE RUNDOWN
Week 2 Rundown: Week 2 of the 2021 Maryland JUCO season saw Chesapeake College in action for their first meaningful games with the Skipjacks taking two from Cecil College on the road Saturday. Hagerstown finished up their trip to Florida going 4-and-3 this week and now sit at 7-and-5 on the season. CCBC Catonsville, Montgomery College, and College of Southern Maryland each picked up a pair of wins to remain unbeaten in both the Conference and Region 20 D2 standings. Harford CC bounced back in a big way on Sunday thanks to sophomore Matt Rivera's walk-off home run in the bottom of the eight inning, completing the sweep over Region 19 powerhouse Lackawanna (PA) after tying Rowan-Gloucester (NJ) on the road in the mid-week and splitting with Allegany College of Maryland on Saturday. CCBC Essex and Garrett College both picked up multiple wins this week to improve upon their overall record and it was a tough week for both Anne Arundel CC and CCBC Dundalk, each going winless. The only two schools once again not in action this week and still waiting to open their season in Week 3 are Frederick CC (Saturday) and Prince George's CC (Thursday).
