With seemingly everyone's seasons starting on different dates this spring due to Covid-19, we have decided to create two separate rankings this year based on Public and Private schools. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will continue to be released every Monday throughout the season.

Week 10 Update: Georgetown Prep won their Semifinal match-up Thursday 9-5 against St. Stephen's and St. Agnes to remain unbeaten and once again atop this week's rankings. The Hoyas will advance to face Landon on Tuesday at home for the IAC title this week with a perfect season also on the line. Archbishop Spalding remains No. 2 in this week's rankings even after suffering a 4-0 loss to John Carroll on Monday. The Cavaliers then rolled off three wins in the loser's bracket against Archbishop Curley (20-1), and Calvert Hall (8-2), and John Carroll (1-0) to advance to the MIAA A Conference Championship, Monday against Gilman.

Solidifying their spot at No. 3 this week is Gilman whom defeated Mount St. Joseph 3-0 on Monday and John Carroll 3-2 on Thursday to advance back to the MIAA title game again this season.

Good Counsel and Mount St. Joseph flip-flop positions at No 4 and No. 5 respectively, as the Falcons went 2-0 on the week defeating DeMatha 6-3 and Bishop Ireton (VA) 9-7. Mount St. Joseph saw their season come to an end after losing two games this week, first to Gilman 3-0 in the winner's bracket of the MIAA tournament on Monday and subsequently then their first game in the loser's bracket 6-4 to Calvert Hall on Tuesday. The Gaels finish 15-7 on the season with several big wins so they remain middle of the pack while we wait to see how the WCAC shakes out here the rest of the way.

Ranked sixth this week is John Carroll who also saw their season come to an end this past week but not before a huge shutout win over top seeded Archbishop Spalding 4-0 on Monday. Both loses this week thereafter were very close one run games including Thursday's winner's bracket championship where a very controversial call in the 6th inning ended up being the difference as Gilman held on to defeat the Patriots 3-2.

Bishop McNamara split the week and slide down one spot to No. 7 following an early week 16-12 win over St. Mary's Ryken and an end of the week loss 10-6 to Gonzaga (DC).

Calvert Hall climbs moves up one spot although their season officially came to an end in the MIAA tournament. The Cardinals defeated McDonogh and Mount St. Joseph in the loser's bracket before eventually bowing out in an 8-2 loss to Archbishop Spalding.

DeMatha Catholic drops two more spots this week following their lone game of the week loss to Good Counsel 6-3. And rounding out this week's Private Schools Top 10 is Archbishop Curley who remain in the tenth spot even after struggling in the MIAA tournament based on their full body of work throughout the course of the challenging A Conference regular season. The Friars finish with a 17-10 overall record in 2021.
