With seemingly everyone's seasons starting on different dates this spring due to Covid-19, we have decided to create two separate rankings this year based on Public and Private schools. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will continue to be released every Monday throughout the season.

Week 4 Update: With four weeks now in the books, today we release our updated PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10. With Georgetown Prep (IAC), Bishop McNamara (WCAC) Good Counsel (WCAC), and DeMatha Catholic (WCAC) having yet to begin their seasons, we hold their spots as is from our initial Preseason Top 10 rankings. (It's an odd year, we get it; but that's why we have also broken it up between Private and Public, with many counties opting to begin their seasons essentially while some of the private schools conferences will be completing their playoffs).

Not a ton of movement up and down the rankings this week with everyone inside the rankings last week dropping at least one game. With Archbishop Spalding and Archbishop Curley both 5-2 in the MIAA Conference we once again give the Cavaliers the nod for the time being by virtue of their head-to-head win earlier in the season. Mount St. Joseph retains their No. 5 spot in the rankings this week following two close losses to both Archbishop Curley on Tuesday in extra innings and Archbishop Spalding on Saturday. The Gaels took out some frustration after that road loss to Curley in the mid-week beating McDonogh 17-1. At No. 7 again this week are the Gilman Greyhounds who lost early in the week to Loyola-Blakefield before bouncing back with a huge win against Archbishop Curley on Thursday. St. Mary's and St. Paul's both drop from the rankings going winless on the week thus opening up two spots at the bottom of the Top 10. Both Calvert Hall and John Carroll jump back in the rankings this week with the Cardinals getting the nod at No. 9 just ahead of the Patriots following their head-to-head win this past Thursday. Plenty more exciting match-ups this week with a bunch of ranked teams looking at tough schedules ahead. Should be interesting to see how things shake out in week five ahead of our weekly update next Monday.
