With seemingly everyone's seasons starting on different dates this spring due to Covid-19, we have decided to create two separate rankings this year based on Public and Private schools. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will continue to be released every Monday throughout the season.

Week 7 Update: Hard to believe but it's been seven weeks since the MIAA officially opened their season back in mid-March. With that said, we finally have all Private Schools across the state playing as teams in the WCAC began their seasons this past week. So no more holding spots - let's take a look at our updated Private Schools Top 10. Georgetown Prep remains at No. 1 following a dominate three-game sweep over Landon outscoring the Bears 32-4. The Hoyas are loaded from top to bottom and boast arguably the deepest stable of arms the state has seen in a while. Archbishop Spalding and Archbishop Curley retain their positions at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively as the Cavaliers proved once again that they are the best team in the MIAA 'A' Conference defeating Curley for the second time last Tuesday on the road. The Friars went toe-to-toe with them eventually falling 2-0 so they remain No. 3 with that close loss after taking care of business against McDonogh twice to bookend the week. Good Counsel jumps two spots this week to No. 4 after upsetting previously ranked No. 4 Bishop McNamara 6-3 on Saturday. The Falcons also defeated Paul VI (VA) in their season opener on Wednesday 13-3 and sit 2-0 on the young season. Bishop McNamara is very talented which is a major reason they started the season at No. 4 so we drop them just one spot as they finished the first week of the season at 1-1 dominating The Heights on Monday 11-0. John Carroll sat idle in Week 7 and by virtue of Gilman dropping their lone game of the week to Calvert Hall, the Patriots move up one spot to No. 6 in this week's rankings. DeMatha Catholic started the week with a loss to Wilson but rebounded to beat St. Mary's Ryken in their WCAC opener and also took down Gonzaga (DC), whom are considered as one of the favorites alongside St. John's College (DC) in the WCAC this year. So by virtue of them taking two games late in the week, we move the Stags up one spot to No. 7 this week. Gilman dropped their lone game of the week 2-1 on the road at Calvert Hall as previously mentioned but with close to a full body of work seen on all the MIAA schools, the Greyhounds remain ahead of both Mount St. Joseph (whom they beat twice) and Calvert Hall (split) at No. 8. Mount St. Joseph and Calvert Hall both went 2-0 this week and with the Gaels holding the season head-to-head 2-0 record against the Cardinals, they hold at No. 9 and Calvert Hall therefore holds this week at No. 10.
