Scouting Report

5.20.17 - Pika stands at a projectable 6-3, 165lbs. He has a simple and compact delivery with minimal effort. His arm action is athletic and free as he releases the ball from a high ¾ slot. He gets a little bit of hip load which ignites his descent down the mound. He finishes over his front side in a slightly closed position. His fastball topped at a heavy 80mph with some arm side run. Breaking ball showed potential to be a plus pitch with 1/7 shape and late movement. He consistently threw it for a strike at 68-70mph. Change up sat at 71-74mph with fade and lived down in the zone.

5.15.16 - Athletic frame with room to fill at 5-foot-11, 150-pounds. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash and home to 1stat 4.72. Hits from a tall slightly open set up with a higher leg kick and closes upon landing. Balance through contact will improve as he lands more squared up. Hits from tall slightly open set up. Level swing path. Extension thru contact will improve as top hand path works through the ball more. Exit velo of 70 mph...Throws from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action with minimal effort. Balanced and smooth delivery. Strong glove side position going into release. Stable landing with good front leg extension into ball release. Fastball was up to 71 mph with slight run to it.
