Preseason All-State Session III

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5’11”, 160 pounds. Strong, athletic, projectable frame. 
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched and slightly open stance with a bit of a wider base. Rhythmic load and minimal stride. Loose hands with rhythm and gets some separation. Short to the ball with a level swing path. Showed quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball with some lower half involvement. Gets extension past contact and finishes the swing with two hands. Worked mostly middle to the pull side during BP squaring up several balls. 
Power: 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Power to the alleys with more projected. 
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a high three-quarter slot. 
Defense: Surrounds the ball and works through it. Fields the ball out in front and showed quick feet and clean exchanges. Showed the ability to change arm slots on double play feeds and slow rollers. 
Run: 4.34 home-to-first time.

Delivery: Started mostly out of the stretch, into a chest high leg kick. Delivery allows him to hide the ball well with deception. Generates good torque out of his lower half and gets out over his landing knee regularly. Hand separation is on time and fluid. Lands in a good fielding position.
Arm Action: RH. Throws downhill out of a mid to high three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T81 mph, 78-80 mph. Showed an arrow-like plane to the plate.
CB: 69-70 mph. Loopy, 12/6 shape.
CH: 70-73 mph. Arm-side fade was evident.

MD Freshman Free Showcase 1.26.19

Athletic body type and 5’10’’, 140 pound frame with room to grow and fill out. Hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly open stance at the plate. Quick load and small stride. Short, slightly uphill swing path that gets level at times. Showed quick hands and bat speed. Generates some lower half involvement and stays behind the ball well with excellent balance throughout swing. Gets good extension through contact and recorded and exit velocity of 77 mph. Line drive type hitter with occasional pop. Works through the ball in the infield fielding the ball out in front with fundamental footwork. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarters slot at 69 mph. Controlled side-step wind-up and high leg kick into a tall, compact balance point. Clean hand separation and strong lower half drive off the rubber. Longer stride landing square to the plate with an athletic finish. Creates some arm speed through release. Throws downhill with long arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot with easy effort. Fastball sat 72-73 mph and touched 74 mph. Change-up showed slight fade at times sitting 63-65 mph. Breaking ball ranged 60-64 mph with gradual 11/5 shape.
