By Nathan Rode

Over the last several weeks, the Hotlist has highlighted unsigned seniors as well as some 2018s on the rise. Of course, we can’t forget about the 2017 class. Listed alphabetically below are juniors that have made impression recently.

Hayden Cantrelle, SS/RHP, Teurlings Catholic HS, LA
Cantrelle has an average, athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds. He’s a switch-hitter with a balanced set-up, smooth load, short stride and explosive lower half. He maintains balance through his swing, which is compact and flat, giving him a line-drive, gap-to-gap approach. On defense, he’s a quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork and a quick, clean exchange. He plays through the ball well and shows solid arm strength out of a high-3/4 slot. He has arm speed on the mound and pitches with regular effort. His rhythm is smooth and he has in-line direction. His fastball sits 81-84 mph with slight run and he shows quality command. His breaking ball has 10/4 shape with late, hard break at 74-76.
