Top Uncommitted 2017 Outfielders

With the 2015-2016 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, PBR Maryland will take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects from the 2016 and 2017 class at each position.

Now at the halfway point in this fall release we shift to the 2017 class. The fall is an important time for rising juniors to be sure to get their name out as a player to watch for the upcoming high school season. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week, as you can see by our 2017 Rankings there are numerous talented prospect still available.

TOP UNCOMMITTED 2017 OUTFIELDERS

Scouting Report:
6.30.15 - Athletic frame at 6-foot-1 180-pounds. Balanced setup with high hands and a short and simple load/stride. Good athletic position upon foot strike. Short and level bat path through the zone with fast bat speed. Gap-to-gap approach with some potential for some power. Sound footwork with a clean exchange. Loose arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm angle across the diamond at 77 mph. Throws were consistent. Played through the ball well with fluid hands. Ran a 4.42 home to first and had an exit velocity of 89 mph. Has ability to play both infield and outfield.

7.7.15 - Solid frame at 5-foot-8 195-pounds. Hits from a crouched, open set up. Short load with some balance in swing. Gets lower half involved. Fast bat speed with a level path. Power to pull side and sometime gets slightly uphill in swing. Has nice rhythm and strength at the plate. Exit velocity of 89 mph. Has a short arm action throwing from a three-quarters arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 79 mph. Soft hands and ran a 7.66 60-yard dash.

2.21.15 -Athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. Throws from an over-the-top arm angle with average hands and a clean exchange. Plays thru the ball well and showed some carry on his throws at 76 mph. Hits from an athletic and balanced setup. Simple load and good balance throughout his swing. Potential pull side power and is a gap-to-gap type hitter right now.  His exit velocity was 76 mph and Oakley also put up a good 60 yard dash, running a 7.00.

7.21.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. Hits from a balanced set up. Short stride with slight bar in load. Has level swing path with fast bat speed. Shows pop to the pull side. Nice balance throughout. Gets some lower half usage and gets on backside slightly. Shows his strength with a 91 mph exit velocity. From the outfield, has a longer arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 80 mph. Sound footwork and confident first step with quick actions. Shows near top tier speed with his 6.68 60-yard dash.

6.30.15 - Solid compact frame at 5-foot-8 155-pounds. Hits from a tall, open set up. Level bat path with average bat speed. Middle approach. Has a loose arm action from an over the top arm angle. Throws have life on them and were accurate at 87 mph. Displayed soft hands, quick feet with a clean and fluid exchange. Works thru the ball well. Quick first step. Ran a 4.68 home to first and had an exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash on 7.30.15.
