Top Uncommitted 2017 Right-Handed Pitchers

With the 2015-2016 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, PBR Maryland will take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects from the 2016 and 2017 class at each position.

Now at the halfway point in this fall release we shift to the 2017 class. The fall is an important time for rising juniors to be sure to get their name out as a player to watch for the upcoming high school season. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week, as you can see by our 2017 Rankings there are numerous talented prospect still available.

TOP UNCOMMITTED RIGHT-HANDED PITCHERS

Mentioned today in this weeks edition of The Hotlist, Collins has a projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. Has reportedly been up to 89 mph this summer pitching mainly in the 84-87 range. Simple delivery throwing from a high three-quarters arm slot.  Quick arm speed and late life on fastball. Room to fill out frame. Breaking ball shows shape and potential.

6.30.15 - Athletic and lanky frame at 5-foot-11 155-pounds. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed and a free arm action. Controlled delivery that builds up speed throughout. Early front leg causes recoil and finishes towards first base. Arm works well. Pitches with some effort. Once gets consistent timing with lower half could get more velo. Fastball has slight run on the pitch at 83-86 mph topping out at 87. Breaking ball has tight rotation and late break with 11/5 action at 75 mph and near fastball arm speed. Slows arm down on the change up at 77 mph.  Interesting prospect with room to grow and as he makes minor adjustments, will only get better.

7.30.15 - Compact frame at 5-foot-10, 175-pounds. Throws from a high three-quarter arm angle with a loose sound arm action and creates quick arm speed. Has a controlled delivery and stays balanced throughout. Lands slightly across his body and could get increased lower half involvement. Pitches with some effort and clean tempo in delivery.  Fastball has gradual run to the pitch up to 85 mph.  Breaking ball has 11/5 action and gradual break at 71 mph.  Keeps near fastball arm speed on the pitch. Changeup has late sink to the pitch at 77 mph. Shows good command on the mound along with a strong mound presence.

6.30.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot-11 155-pounds. Controlled delivery with some rhythm.  Throws from a ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed and a loose arm action. Pitches with very easy effort. Nice lower half usage. Frame to build upon. Fastball has late run with command.  Pitched 82-85 but did hit 87 once.  Breaking ball had close to 12/6 shape with good command, tight rotation and potential as a power pitch. Interesting prospect to build on.

2.21.15 - Long, lanky, and projectable frame at 6-foot, 145-pound RHP. He pitches from a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed and free arm action. Pitches with regular effort in his controlled deliver with smooth rhythm. Fastball has late run with command at 83 mph. Breaking ball has tight rotation and power potential with 11/5 break. Shows command of the breaking ball Changeup has near fastball arm speed at 71 mph.

6.30.15 - Lanky frame at 6-foot-1 195 pounds. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle with a free arm action and some lift. Has controlled delivery with some rhythm. Would like more backside drive. Pitches with regular effort with direction and square landing and upright finish. Fastball has run at 82 mph with command. Breaking ball has some depth with early break and near fastball arm speed at 72 mph. Changeup has run and sink with command and near fastball arm speed at 72 mph.
