The Maryland Unsigned senior games finished on Sunday afternoon with several of the regions uncommitted prospects performing well. Over the coming weeks we will have full analysis from the event. Today we take a quick look at some highlights from the event.

St. John’s RHP Jake Pecilunas continued to show why he is one of the top pitchers in the Mid-Atlantic region still available. The righty sat around 83-85 on the day and does pitch with some effort, but attacks the strike zone and showed great command of a slider that has put-away ability. Pecilunas gave up no hits during his two innings of work, striking out two and walking one while inducing weak contact against hitters.

Teammate Jake Heskett of St. John is an intriguing prospect as well. The long lanky 6-foot-4 right-hander was 78-80 on the day and looks to have more I his tank as he continues to fill out his frame. Heskett gave up no hits in his two innings of work with two strikeouts and two walks.

OF Ryan Kennington put together a strong workout for himself, showing ample arm strength from the outfield with his 87 mph velocity and a smooth swing at the plate. He got a little e pull happy on the day, but barreled the ball consistently on the day.

Jordan Price has a projectable athletic frame with room for more while showing arm strength in the outfield with 83 mph arm strength. Price showed switch hitting ability at the plate that gets around the ball at times, but has gap-to-gap ability at the plate.

Ryan Downes had a nice day at the plate, showing off his strength with his 96 mph exit velocity and the went 2-for-3 on the day with two line drives for hits and his last doing a great job staying balanced on a breaking ball and lacing it to right-center.

Although smaller in stature, INF Alex Cordon packed plenty of punch at the plate going 2-for-3 on the day with two doubles, attacking the baseball and driving them well. He showed sound actions in the field to go along with his offensive prowess.

Noah Clement had a nice day at the plate showing a smooth swing with his projectable body. He shows versatility in the field being able to cover the outfield as well as man first base. Clement was 1-for-4 on the day with two of his outs being well-hit line drives directly at player on both pull side and oppo.

Sherwood’s Alec Goldberg had a nice day moving well behind the dish with a quick exchange and release behind the plate. His pop times ranged from 2.06 – 2.19. Backstop Connor Stevens also showed a quick transfer from the catcher spot, throwing 2.06 in the workout then going as ow as 1.97 during the games in-between innings. In game he threw out a runner with a 2.2 pop right on the bag.

CH Flowers corner man Michael Brown shows some raw strength at the plate with an 87 mph exit velo. He showed pull side power potential at the plate and short hopped the fence in game as one of his two hits on the day.

2B Robbie Palmeri had another showing consistent defensive ability on top of making a great diving play up the middle taking away a base hit. Palmeri went 2-for-4 on the day with a triple.

Bryan Bell is a versatile athlete being able to play multiple positions in the field (2B, OF, C) while also showing bat speed at the plate with a short swing and quick hands.

Matt Glady was 80-83 on the day with his lanky frame and quick arm action. Glady showed nice command of his 11/5 breaking ball with nice depth on the pitch. He struck out three in his two innings. Glady has also been up to 85 before on the mound when we saw him over the summer.

LHP Noah Brack has projection from the left side with his longer 6-foot-3 frame and free arm action. Brack pitched at 79 mph on the day with feel for his secondary. Brack struck out four in his two innings giving up no hits.

Patrick Bruke had a nice day as well showing 86 mph velo from the outfield then pitching 82 on the day. Burke also has a quick bat at the plate getting two hits on the day and had two effective innings on the mound to start the day.
