James Clegg's sixth inning go ahead RBI single proved to be the difference as Walkersville defeated Urbana 7-6 after a furious Urbana comeback came up short.

Walkersville took the early lead in the top of the second inning after Rowan Bennett led the inning off with a double. After a ground out and a walk to Jaxson Brust an errant pick-off at first scored Bennett and put Brust to third base. An Eric Turvin single scored Brust and the Lions would add one more after an infield RBI single from Davis Kelley, making the score 3-0.

The Lions would add one in the top of the third and two in the top of the fourth to extend the lead to 6-0. Jacob Wetzel had an RBI single over the time and Christian Policelli delivered deep drive double off the left field fence which he would later score.

The Urbana comeback began in the bottom of the fourth inning, where they exploded for five runs on five hits and a hit by pitch. Ryan Hayden, Sean Barry, and Kyle Orens had RBI's in the inning and the Hawks scored two runs off a wild pitch and return throw that sailed down the first base line. After quiet Walkersville half of the fifth, Urbana tied the game up in the bottom half with a RBI groundout from  Hayden, beating out a potential inning ending double play.

In the top of the sixth Walkersville would load the bases with two out and Clegg would come through with a single through the left side of the infield. Urbana would not threaten again until the seventh inning, loading the bases with one out on Wetzel, who was in his third inning of relief for the Lions. Wetzel would strike out the next two hitters to end the game.

Wetzel got the win in three innings of relief, striking out five and scattering two hits and three walks. Wetzel led the Lion offense going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Urbana was led by Hayden, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Barry, who was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
