With great pleasure, we bring to you Prep Baseball Report Maryland. Our mission in Maryland mirrors that of other state-specific coverage: to provide the most comprehensive in-state information, to promote high school baseball and, ultimately help Maryland prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. Our goal is to be the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in Maryland.

Although it will take some time to achieve the status of our other 21 states, we are certain we have the right person to thoroughly, accurately and honestly cover Maryland:

Jerry Shank.

Shank comes to the Prep Baseball Report with 10 years of college coaching experience, including eight at the Division I level, six of which as recruiting coordinator. Shank’s Division I experience includes stints at the University of Hartford, North Carolina Central University and Canisius.

While at Hartford, Shank recruited left-hander Sean Newcomb, who went on to become the No. 15 overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Angels. In all, Shank reeled in two of the top three draft picks in Hartford’s history. He recruited and/or coached 16 players who moved on to play professional baseball.

While at North Carolina Central, Shank helped lead the school to its three winningest seasons in program history.

Now Shank will bring his baseball experiences and connections to Maryland’s prep baseball scene. Shank will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Maryland has ever seen and provide coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Please email him a [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.

Maryland events are already set up at top-flight venues across the state. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure from college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players’ profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.

Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005. Over the last 10 years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into the authoritative voice of high school baseball in Illinois. More than 450 colleges and pro scouts now subscribe to the Prep Baseball Report multimedia services. Over the years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive coverage in every state we are in.
