Over the course of this week we will be releasing position-by-position analysis articles with scouting reports on each player and identifying the top prospects.  Two-way prospects will appear in a position analysis as well as pitching analysis.  We shall identify top prospect in each area and identify a younger talent (2018 or 2019) as a Future Watch if applicable

Today we look at the outfielders that participated in the event:

Top Prospects

Max Rogers 3B/OF 2016 Mt. St. Joseph
Long, lanky, athletic frame at 6-foot-2 190-pounds.  Has a loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot.  Makes consistent throws from the outfield with some life on the throws at 87 mph from the outfield and 83 across the infield.  Has a clean exchange and from the infield gets the ball a little deep in his position.  Hits from a balanced set up and slightly closed.  Shows bats speed with a short bat path.  Would like to see a little more extension through contact but already shows pop in his gap-to-gap style of hitting with a 91 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.45 60 yard dash.

Kristian Curry Jr. SS/2B 2017 Avalon
Solid frame at 5-foot-9 170-pounds.  Has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot with accurate throws at 75 mph.  Throws had some carry on them across the infield.  Fluid footwork and a clean exchange.  Hits from a balanced and compact setup at the plate. Short stride that is slightly closed. Balance in swing with quick bat speed and a short path to the ball.  Gap-to-gap type hitter. Had an exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.06 60 yard dash.

Philip LoMedico SS/3B 2016 Calvert Hall
Athletic frame at 6-foot-1 185-pounds. Loose arm action from a low ¾ arm angle.  Accurate throws with average carry at 73 mph.  Soft hands, clean exchange and fluid footwork. Solid corner prospect now and would move to middle with increased foot speed.  Hits from an open setup that closes a bit in stride.  Quick bat speed with a short path to the ball. Gap=to-gap type hitter with rhythm in swing.  Potential pop with 89 mph exit velocity.

Kaleb Cline SS/2B 2017 JM Bennett
Projectable frame at 6-foot 154-pounds.  Has soft hands and fluid footwork with a clean exchange.  Short arm action from a low ¾ arm slot with some carry on throws at 77 mph.  Hits from a balanced set up with a stride that gets slightly closed.  Has quick bat speed and a short bat path.  Pull type hitter right now with potential to be a gap-to-gap style with more extension through contact. Fluid rhythm.  Had an exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 7.62 60 yard dash. Projects more at third base currently but if can lower his speed can play the middle.

Best of the Rest (In Alphabetical Order)

Caden Bailey 3B/1B 2017 Old Mill
Long and athletic frame at 6-foot-1 190-pounds.  Has as short arm action throwing from a ¾ arm slot.  Throws have average carry on them at 73 mph.  Fluid footwork that will improve as consistently gets on balls of feet.  Has a clean exchange. Hits from a slightly open stance with average bat speed and level bat path. Gap-to-gap type hitter with rhythm in swing. Has a 76 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.4 60 yard dash.

Jared Carr SS/2B 2017 St. James
Lanky body at 5-foot-9 145 pounds.  Has a short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm slot.  Makes accurate throws with some carry at 75 mph across the infield.  Fluid footwork that will get better with more consistency.  Clean exchange.  Hits from a balanced set up with quick hands and a short bat path. More pull type hitter now with potential to be gap-to-gap hitter.  Ran a 7.30 60 yard dash and had an exit velocity of 80 mph.  Interesting prospect that should fill out and clean up as he gets stronger.  One to follow.
