Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2025 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2025.    

#15 Chesapeake-AA Cougars   

"It was an exciting season for the Cougars in 2024 that led all the way to a state championship loss to Magruder. A really nice mix of standout talent and small ball, the Cougars executed consistently all season long and look to continue their success in 2025. On the bump, the depth and top-end talent remains, as the emergence of now Junior Dylan Adams looks to continue his dominance from a year ago, with really nice senior arms in Christian Spoone and Colton Duffy looking to follow. Sophomore brothers in Dakari and Dennis Bailey are two highly athletic two-ways to keep eyes on, as the arm talent on the bump is intriguing and should add reliable innings for Coach Young on the backend. Chesapeake does lose some of their offensive production from a year ago, however, does return a slew of impact bats throughout the lineup in Adams, Lucas Slayton, CJ August, Jimmy Dreyer and Sean Carroll. Look for added production from the Bailey brothers as well."
