Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2025 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2025.
#16 La Plata Warriors 
"Our staff sees La Plata being the team to beat in the SMAC as we enter the 2025 spring, as the Warriors return a plethora of Senior led talent on both sides of the ball. Senior two-way Chris Coombs looks to lead this stacked roster on both sides of the ball, with plenty of depth on the bump with the likes of Cole Barrett, Cam Gill, Thomas Conrad, and Corban Ackerman. Offensively, the Warriors return their top three hitters in the lineup with the likes of Taylor Ellis at leadoff, Patrick Wutka in the 2 hole and Coombs in the 3. Look for fellow seniors Adam Bowling, Gill, and Ben Wilson to provide added depth throughout the lineup as well. This La Plata team is very senior led with experience spread out on both sides of the ball and should be a ton of fun to follow throughout the SMAC as the spring goes on."
