Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2025 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2025.    

#3 Walt Whitman Vikings   

"The top ranked public school comes in at No. 3, as we anticipate the Vikings to have yet another strong year out of the loaded 4A West II. The return of standout two-way Sammy Berman looks to take an even bigger step in 2025 after a breakout 2024 campaign, and the addition of another two-way star in Charlie Buckles should add impact on both sides. The depth and talent on both sides is eye-opening, and this is the year we see the Vikings finally getting over the hump and winning a state title. If the likes of Berman, Wells Twining, Buckles and the majority of their upperclassmen perform well this spring, you should see Whitman back in the state title game in 2025."
