Following the updated MD/DE Class of 2025 and 2026 Rankings updates, our staff turn our attention to the 2027 class this week. After a lengthy fall season between tournaments and events, this class comes into more focus as we enter into the winter months. Below, we have highlighted and take an in-depth look at five Risers that are set to make a considerable jump in this update. Stay tuned, as our staff reveals the Top 50 on Wednesday and the full rankings release on Thursday.

MD/DE Class of 2027 Risers (Alphabetical by last name)

Blake Bourne SS / 2B / Glenelg High, MD / 2027

One of my favorite left-handing hitting sticks in this class, Bourne showcased an immense variation of high-contact rate and gap-to-gap strength this fall. A top-of-the-order profile with the ability to spray line drives to all fields makes for this to be a fun offensive threat to follow for years to come. Controlled aggression with barrel feel, and the ability to impact the game at a high rate in any aspect of the game.

Ryan Lewis C / SS / Parkside High, MD / 2027

Highly athletic, offensive backstop with some of the more smooth and fluid actions on both sides of the ball in the class. Offensively, the approach is sound with the ability to backspin to both gaps and showcase some added power upside as the 2024 calendar year wore on. The arm strength continues to impress and coupled with quick feet behind the dish makes for this to be an exciting backstop to keep tabs on. As the frame fills and strength is added, look for Lewis to continue to rise in the near future.

Jake Lindsey 3B / 2B / Calvert Hall , MD / 2027

Mr. Consistency. It's always fun getting a chance to see Lindsey compete on the field, as the energy and work ethic is captivating. The body continues to clean up and strength has come to the forefront, allowing both the offensive actions and defensive actions to shine on a consistent basis. Power upside to the pull side with the ability to cut it down behind in counts should bode well for the average to continue to tick up. Defensively, the arm strength looks to keep the third baseman on the left side of the infield and the footwork continues to get more and more fluid.

Ryan Noll C / 3B / Good Counsel, MD / 2027

One of the top players in the class sees another rise in this most recent update, coming off an impressive performance at the Dig In Scout Day earlier this year. Physicality with added foot speed looks to take Noll's game to the next level as we enter 2025. Length and heaviness in the barrel has always been special at the dish and only adds to the present power that is portrayed day in and day out.

Jackson Wineke SS / C / South Carroll , MD / 2027

Quick hands with fluid actions at the dish stood out to me this fall, and the added strength in the frame has only enhanced the hit tool. It's a physical makeup with line-drive tendencies and a consistent ability to find the barrel with loud contact produced. Versatile defender with athletic actions.
