A Trio of Unsigned Seniors: Dee Jawad, Jack Hranec, Alex DeYonker

By Mike Penn

The upcoming Unsigned Senior Showcase is shaping up to be a solid looking group of players.  Today we take a quick look at three players who will be attending.  Here are some notes on what to expect:

Jack Hranec, LHP/1B, Brandon HS, 2013
Hranec stands at a physically imposing 6-foot-5, 240-pounds and he has flown under the radar. According to reports, Hranec is just starting to come into his own.  Expect Hranec to produce a fastball 81-83mph off the mound and create hard contact at the plate.  He will be interesting to watch.

Dee Jawad, SS/OF, Dearborn Heights Crestwood, 2013
Jawad is known to be a good athlete with his ability to run as the highlight.  If Jawad is having a good day he should run near a 6.7 60-yard dash.  Because of his speed he most likely projects to be an outfielder but he may surprise us in the infield as well. Additionally, Jawad is also an outstanding student possessing a GPA of 3.95 and a consistent Honor Roll performer.

Alex DeYonker, LHP/OF, Livonia Franklin, 2013
DeYonker will be interesting to watch.  He is a lefthander that according to his coaches is very intriguing. He is expected to show his ability to throw three pitches for strikes. Last year DeYonker was an All-District performer for Livonia Franklin High School.  Only 6-foot, 155-pounds, DeYonker has plenty of room to grow and he is a young for his class.

The Unsigned Senior Showcase will be held at Spring Arbor on October 27th.  There are a few spots still available.
