Daily Roundup: April 3 Games

Bloomdfield Hills Andover 0, No. 7 Bishop Foley 9
Michael Reid was in control the whole time in his first start of the year.  Reid went four innings striking out four and walking three.  Bishop Foley got on the board early with a Nate Grys, who is a Western Commit, sac fly to score the first run.

Southfield-Lathrup 0, No. 7 Bishop Foley 17
Bishop Foley faced Southfield-Lathrup in Game 2 on the day for them.  Junior Garrett Schilling got the win and struck out five Lathrup Chargers in his three innings of work.  Mike Murley came in relief of Schilling and posted two scoreless innings.  Murley was sitting 82-83mph with his fastball.  Southfield-Lathrup's Johnny Slater, a Michigan commit, showed good tools in the outfield making several good reads on the baseball.  Sophomore Chase Colding got a hit for Southfield-Lathrup in the first inning of the game ending Garrett Schilling's consecutive hitless innings streak.

Roosevelt 5, Stoney Creek 2
Sophomore Eric Gilgenbach is slowly making a name for himself.  Gilgenbach threw well for Stoney Creek despite taking the loss. He went five innings striking out 7 and allowing three earned runs.  He also has been hitting in the No. 4 hole for Stoney Creek. Junior Joe Cox (Stoney Creek HS) was 2-3 in the game.

Orchard Lake St. Mary's 3, Olentangy Orange 8
St. Mary's lost despite getting a multi-hit effort from Will Salter, a Michigan State recruit.  Devin Rose also contributed a hit for St. Mary's and was 1-2 on the day.

Grosse Pointe South 1, Cincinnati Edgewood 3
Grosse Pointe South continues its slow start on its spring trip to Ohio. GPS has now lost the last three game it has played.  Carmen Benedetti went 2-3 on the day and George Fishback contributed a hit of his own and the lone RBI for GPS.
