Shane EasterShane Easter, OF/SS, Comstock High School

PBR: Why did you choose Eastern Michigan?
Shane: I chose Eastern Michigan because I really like the coaching staff. I think they have a great idea of what they want to do, and are doing a good job building a culture that will be successful!

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Shane: I was also considering Michigan, Michigan State, Western Michigan, and Toledo.

PBR: You were a member of Team Michigan at the 2015 Future Games. How did that help your recruitment?
Shane: The Future Games was a big part of my recruitment. It helped me demonstrate my talents to schools all around the country. Along with getting to know a lot of great ball players.

PBR: Eastern has committed a couple other guys that were on the Futures Games team with you. Did that play a role in your decision?
Shane: Eastern’s two other recruits made my decision a lot easier. Knowing that I'll have other kids that I played ball with was a real comfort. They’re both great ball players that have fun and love this game as much as I do. Very excited to play ball with these guys!

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Shane: I'm pretty sure that the first time the coaching staff saw me was at one of my summer tournaments this last summer.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.
Shane: I play for the HBF Maroons. My most memorable moment was a couple years ago when we went down to the Elite 32 in Disney and placed ninth overall.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter and pitcher that you have faced?
Shane: The hardest pitcher I faced was a player from the Ohio Elite who had great command and a very good slider.

PBR: Now that you have committed, what are your remaining goals for high school?
Shane: My goals for the rest of high school is to keep my grades up, keep improving on my skills, and enjoy my last two years of high school while I have them.
