PBR: Why did you choose Eastern Michigan?
Luke: I chose Eastern because I knew they were the right fit for me. I really love the coaching staff there and think they have a very young program that is on its way to building something special.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Luke: I was considering Michigan State, North Carolina State, and Ball State.

PBR: You were a member of Team Michigan at the 2015 Future Games, how did that help your recruitment?
Luke: The Future Games was one of the biggest tools in helping my recruiting process. It gave every college a chance to see me and for me to see them. Also being able to see the kids I would be competing against to get an offer from schools was a blast.

PBR: Eastern has committed a couple other guys that were on the Future Games team with you, did that play a role in your decision?
Luke: The two other Future Games recruits that Eastern got before I committed really helped me in my decision to go there. Both of those kids are really amazing kids with great personalities and great ball players. Together I think we will be given every opportunity to make that program great.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Luke: Coach Van Ameyde helped recruit my brother to Michigan State so he already knew of me and my family, but I believe the first time they saw me was this past spring in one of our weekend games.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?
Luke: I play for the Detroit Metro Stars and our most memorable moment I think, was when we got to play at the University of Michigan and we came back from down I think 8 or 9 runs to end up winning on a walk off in the 11th inning. That was a 4 and a half hour game that I'll never forget.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter and pitcher that you have faced?
Luke: The toughest pitcher I would have to say was Ricky Karcher from Saline, he threw in the 90s with a really solid changeup. The toughest hitter I've faced was from the Ohio Force. He was 3-3 off of me with three smashed singles.

PBR: Now that you have committed, what are your remaining goals for high school?
Luke: My main goals are to 1) win a state championship, and then 2) become a valedictorian at my high school.
