Michigan Daily Roundup: Some games from April 9th-11th






Franklin Central (IN) 2, Grandville 1:  
A costly balk in the bottom of the 7th with runners on 1st and 3rd cost the Grandville Bulldogs big-time. Joey Malone struck out six in six innings for Grandville and only allowed one earned run. Franklin Central's Kevin Hammond went five innings, gave up no runs, and struck out six. Troy Merriman, Jacob Garbarino, and Oliver Jaskie each had a hit for Grandville.


Dearborn Divine Child 11-1, Orchard Lake St. Mary's 8-6: In the first game, Tyson Smith and Devin Rose chipped in RBI singles. For Divine Child, Torey DeMare had a three-run home run while Anthony DiPonio had a RBI single. Dion Henderson got the win in relief for Divine Child, working 3 2/3 innings, giving up three hits, one earned run, walking five, and striking out six. DiPonio ended the first game 3-3 with two doubles and a single while Griffin Sheposh went 2-3 and scored two runs for the hard-luck Eaglets. In the second game, Joe Giacalone allowed one run on three hits in a complete game effort while walking two and striking out ten. Danny Blade hit a double for Divine Child.

Bloomington South 7, Grandville 6: Henry Niswander hit a two-run home run for South. Brendan Kelly started on the mound for Grandville going four innings, giving up three earned runs, and striking out four. Jordan Russell (2-4 HR), Brian Cappiello (2-4, 3 SB), Jake Garbarino (2-5 HR), and Mitch Dykstra (2-5) each had two hits to pace the Bulldog offense. Isaac Barrow had three hits, two RBIs, and scored the winning run for Bloomington South in the win.

Madison Heights Bishop Foley 10, West Bloomfield 0: Senior Austin Lukaschewski, a University of Illinois-Springfield signee, was awesome on the mound for the Ventures on Friday, going the distance, while only surrendering one hit and striking out four. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.

Sterling Heights Parkway Christian 6, Novi Franklin Road Christian 3: Ryan Stewart and Riley McManus combined for five hits and four RBIs for Parkway Christian.
