Michigan Insider: Top 2017 Uncommitted Infielders
With the Summer season coming to an end and the 2016-2017 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, we would like to take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects at each position.
Today we are starting with the top uncommitted senior infielders in Michigan. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week, as you can see by our 2017 Player Rankings there are numerous talented prospects available.
Connor McCarron
Ranked: 41st in Michigan’s 2017 class
Scouting Report: McCarron has an athletic 5-foot-8, 160-pound build. He has a wide stance with high hands and shows good rhythm. He has a slightly downhill plane to his swing and shows good bat speed. His exit velocity was 86 mph and he ran a 4.31 home-to-1st. Defensively, he shows smooth actions with good feet and quick hands. His velocity across the diamond was 81 mph.
College outlook: Connor is a gamer that makes plays. He shows above average range with very soft hands. One of the top defensive SS in the state. Swings from the left side while making good contact.
Connor’s Thoughts: “I can bring a winning mentality. Consistency and leadership to a college program”
Receiving Interest From: Hope, Northwood, Kalamazoo, Grand Valley State, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Central Michigan and Western Michigan.
