Michigan Insider: Updated Class of 2019 Player Rankings (August)

With the spring season upon us, Prep Baseball Report Michigan takes a look at the updated 2019 rankings. Over the winter, we were able to see several new prospects while other players showed significant physical and skill development. Below, we look at “What’s New At The Top”, “Rising Prospects”, and some of the top uncommitted prospects.

WHATS NEW AT THE TOP

As we bring the summer to a close, we saw more and more 2019 prospects that continued to come on the scene.

Christopher Mokma RHP / 1B / Holland Christian, MI / 2019

RHP Christopher Mokma (Holland Christian) made huge strides this summer raising his game to another level taking over the number one spot. Chris has established himself as one of the top prospects in the country.

Aaron Dolney C / RHP / Detroit Country Day, MI / 2019

C/RHP Aaron Dolney (Country Day) comes in strong at number two continuing to prove strong as a big hitting left hand catcher and arm on the mound. Dolney also committed to Nebraska earlier in the summer.

Cameron Wagoner RHP / OF / Tecumseh, MI / 2019

RHP/OF Cameron Wagoner had a breakout summer standing 6-foot-6, 180 pound prospect was a stand out at the future games pounding the zone with a high-80s fastball also flashing two solid breaking balls and a changeup. He has moved to number three in the rankings.

The Risers

Adam Randall and Drew Alsobrooks both members of the Future Games team made noticeable rises in the rankings. Both garnered a lot of attention from schools after stellar performances.

Adam Randall RHP / OF / Bay City Western, MI / 2019

RHP Randall, 6-foot-2, 160 pound long wiry prospect demonstrated good composure on the mound with a fastball that sits 84-86 mph with tremendous arm side run. His performance at Future Games catapulted him up the rankings coming in at the number 6 ranking. Along with a swing and miss curve.

Drew Alsobrooks LHP / OF / Livonia Churchill, MI / 2019

LHP Alsobrooks, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound LHP threw a dominate two innings against team Ohio in the Future Games showcasing an 85-87 mph fastball with a heavy feel. Throwing downhill he moved with an upbeat pace. Curve kept hitters off balance with a sharp break and a low in the zone change up that produced several grounders.
