Michigan Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #7 Sam Weatherly

Sam Weatherly#7 Sam Weatherly, LHP/OF, Howell, 2017 (Clemson commit)
Background: 6-foot-3, 175-pound two-way prospect. Sam is lean, athletic, two-way prospect. Possesses smooth actions in the outfield paired with an 89 mph throwing arm. At the plate he effortlessly barrels balls from a calm upright stance. On the mound he has a clean, fluid motion. Thrown from a high-3/4 angle his fastball sat 85-87 mph with good run, and breaking ball was sharp breaking at 71-76 mph. His out-pitch was his changeup with great deception at 76-77 mph.

Outlook: The number two ranked player in the 2017 class and 37th overall has become a well known commodity across the nation after an outstanding 2015 spring and summer that saw Weatherly look dominant at the 2015 Futures Game. The upcoming junior southpaw has since committed to Clemson.
