Michigan Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #6 Sam Weatherly

Sam Weatherly#6 Sam Weatherly, LHP, Howell, 2017 (Clemson commit)
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 175-pound two-way prospect. Sam is lean, athletic, two-way prospect. Possesses smooth actions in the outfield paired with an 89 mph throwing arm. At the plate, he effortlessly barrels balls from a calm upright stance. Exit velo of 87 mph. On the mound, he has a clean, fluid motion. Thrown from a high-3/4 angle his fastball sat 86-88, up to 91 mph with good run, and breaking ball was sharp breaking at 71-76 mph. His out-pitch was his changeup with great deception at 76-77 mph.

Overview: In 2016, the talented two-way prospect saw his stock soar, and now sits at the top spot in the state prospect rankings and 22nd overall. The Howell product was apart of our 2015 Futures teams for Michigan and used that platform to showcase his talents. Look for this senior to be one of the top players in the Midwest this spring and possibly hear his name called when the MLB draft comes around.
