PBR Mailbag: What Makes Nick Plummer An Intriguing Prospect?

Temperatures are dropping and events are moving indoors. Winter must be coming. Players are taking the time to give their bodies a break from a long year before having to get ready for the spring again. There may not be much action going on, but there’s still plenty to talk about. The 2015 Overall Rankings were recently updated with states that are new to the Prep Baseball Report coverage area being folded into the mix. The 2016 Overall Rankings are next on the docket. I’ve also been working on putting together my National Top 50 for the 2015 class and expect to post it very soon. The early signing period begins this week, which means many of those verbal commitments will become official as players sign and send their national letters of intent.

What makes Nick Plummer (Brother Rice HS, MI) such an intriguing prospect in your opinion? Also is he the only high school player in Michigan that you foresee getting drafted?
If you've never seen him before, the first thing about Plummer that jumps out is his frame. He isn't tall, standing at 5-foot-11, but he is well put together, tipping the scales at about 200 pounds. It’s a lean, strong frame. At the plate, he has a short, compact swing with good bat speed from the left side, which he showed off all summer at national events.
