PBR Spotlight Game: U of D Jesuit vs Notre Dame Prep Gm 1

U of D struck early and often to win game one of the Catholic League double-header. 

U o D benefited from early command issues resulting in Jesuit scoring two runs in the first inning with the big hit coming from Andrew Novetsky (2015).

In the top of the 2nd Waymond Lemon (2015) led the inning off with a walk. Daigoro Otaka (2016) followed the walk with a single to put runners on the corners. A sacrifice fly from Nate Wenson (2015) scored Lemon.

Jesuit added another run in the 3rd as Jared Demkowicz (2016) led off with a double and was later driven in on a sacrifice fly by Joseph Haddad (2015).

Notre Dame Prep fought back with back-to-back home runs from Luke Shilling (#2 2015 prospect) and Joseph Vyskocil (2015) in the bottom of the 3rd. 

However, U of D responded with four more runs in the 4th as both Chris Houle (2015) and Novetsky added 2 RBI at bats.

The top  of the 7th saw U of D score three additional runs as Scott Nelson (2017) and Owen Faust (2016) added RB's.

Notre Dame Prep scored one final run in the bottom of the 7th thanks to a solo home run from Jacob Depillo (2015).

Notre Dame Prep controlled game two from start to finish.

Luke Shilling had a dominating performance on the mound, throwing a complete game (5 innings) with 10 strikeouts.

Joseph Vyskocil led off the bottom of the 1st with a single and later scored on an RBI by Jacob Depillo.

U OF D scored their lone run in the top of the 2nd as they benefited from back-to-back walks and a wild pitch, leading to a run.

Runs continued to come for NDP in the 2nd as Kory Czajkowski (2016), Joseph Argo (2016) singled, Shilling doubled, Michael Maclean (2015) singled, and Will Mullen (2015) singled to score seven runs.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Vyskocil singled, Joseph Mukhtar (2016) was hit by a pitch leading to a RBI single from Shilling. Mukhtar scored later off a sacrifice fly from Depillo.

Shilling ended the game in the bottom of the 5th with a walk-off HR (10-run rule) over the right-center fence.
