Updated Class of 2024 Player Rankings (March)
The state of Michigan has become a hotbed of talent throughout the country placing numerous players at various levels into colleges as well as multiple draft picks. As we close out the summer and move into fall baseball as well as other fall sports we had the opportunity to see hundreds of prospects throughout the spring/summer and have updated our class rankings.Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.
Below we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", “The Risers”, "The Sleepers", "New To The List", "Don't Sleep On These Arms", "Breakout Candidates This Spring" and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What’s New At The Top

Joey Broughton LHP / 1B / Northville, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 2
Report: The Pittsburgh commit makes his way into the Top 10 after a strong showing at our annual ProCase. The Southpaw sat 88-90, T91 with his changeup and slider for strikes consistently. Look for Broughton to anchor the Northville rotation this spring as he & teammates begin their journey to East Lansing. |

Tyler Inge SS / 2B / Detroit Country Day, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Report: The son of 12 year big leaguer Brandon Inge, Tyler is making a name for himself. The Junior from Detroit Country day displayed why he has a promising future with the Wolverines. An athletic middle infielder with smooth actions and a low to mid 90s arm across the diamond and a hit tool that has certainly developed as he’s progressed as an amateur. |
The Risers

Brandon Newland RHP / SS / Bloomfield Hills, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 2
Report: The Wolverine commit came in with a purpose at ProCase. The 6’6 frame Newland showed a fastball at 90-92 with a 12/6 breaking ball with late vertical break. A tall athlete that will headman the rotation at Bloomfield Hills. |

Julian Harris RHP / 3B / Gull Lake, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 9
Report: Julian had one of the more electric arms of the afternoon at ProCase sitting 89-90, topping at 91.5. A hard at bat for right-handed hitters as he comes down the mound with a ¾ slot that runs in on the hands of hitters. Along with the electric fastball is his sweeping slider that will get plenty of swings and misses for the Blue Devils of Gull Lake. |

Kael Gahan LHP / Lake Orion, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 29 / POS: 4
Report: Kael climbed the rankings after a impressive display at ProCase. Our staff has seen him multiple times over the past 12 months. Investing into his off-season training program really paid off earning a commitment to Coach Jackson and the Memphis Tigers. His stuff moves all over the place making tough for hitters to get a good look at him multiple times through the line up. |

Jake Hindenach OF / RHP / Paw Paw, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 70 / POS: 11
Report: Hindenach is an uncommitted prospect college coaches will need to keep tabs on for this spring. An upper 80s arm that is still developing his arsenal. Athletic body on the bump that also can be seen as a two-way prospect. We’ve seen him in the mid 90s off the bat with a strong arm from the outfield that will certainly turn head for recruiting coordinators. |
The Sleepers

Anthony Pesci RHP / 3B / Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 40 / POS: 13
Report: The OLSM Eaglet is a rising Junior that has gotten continually better from summer to this coming spring season. His fastball ranges from 88-89 and will touch 90. Long levers on his body allowing him to get good extension not only on the fastball but all secondary pitches. Tough changeup to go with it fading into right handed batters. |

Evan Deak OF / RHP / Northville, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 50 / POS: 7
Report: A physical right handed stick that has loads of athleticism. Had a good showing at ProCase where he ran a 6.95, 90 mph from the outfield and 90.1 off the bat. Putting in a good off-season of training will certainly pay dividends for the rising Junior. |
New To The List

Avery McEwen SS / RHP / AA Pioneer, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 130 / POS: 27
Report: A developing middle infielder from a surging Pioneer program. A multi-year member for AAPHS has a sure glove with good range at 6’3 170. Will continue to progress offensively as his body matures. |

Kyle Lingbeek 1B / RHP / Otsego, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 153 / POS: 8
Report: After a good showing at the Around The Horn scout day in January, opposing pitchers will have be careful pitching to Lingbeek. A big strong body with raw power in the bat and a solid glove on the corner at first base. |
Don’t Sleep On These Arms

Dominic Minghine RHP / SS / Northville, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 49 / POS: 16
Report: A good showing at ProCase for Minghine has us more dialed in on him leading into the season. Features a loose arm that sits 86-87, T88 with an above average change up. Will help lead a talented Northville squad. |

Myles Sorn RHP / 3B / West Bloomfield, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 73 / POS: 22
Report: Sorn has an athletic frame and a wiry body that is definitely exciting for a lot of schools. Mid to upper 80s fastball along with good tools behind the plate that will carry much value for the Lakers at West Bloomfield. A two-way prospect that is looking to make another jump this spring. |

Chase Schwierking RHP / 1B / Walled Lake Western, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 95 / POS: 23
Report: Chase features something you can’t teach and that’s size at 6’6 215. An impressive showing at ProCase with a heavy fastball that topped a 88. Has progressively improved from summer 2022 into his Junior season at WLW. |

Report: The multi-sport athlete showcased nicely over the winter that has a strong and accurate arm from the behind the dish. Clean footwork accompanied with a smooth left handed stroke that is sure to be force in West Michigan this spring. |

Connor Walsh SS / 3B / Mattawan, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 88 / POS: 18
Report: Connor has continued to develop as one of Southwest Michigan’s top defensive infielders. The Mattawan native has a lanky frame with a good range of athleticism and a developing arm that a lot of college coaches will want to get a peak at. |

Camden Johnson OF / SS / Allen park, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 108 / POS: 20
Report: The downriver Junior has some tools that will turn heads. Upper 80s from the outfield with clean footwork and mechanics. Sub 7 runner to go along with his tools in the outfield. Takes a linedrive approach in his BP rounds, not trying to over due too much. |

Zane Wilson SS / RHP / Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep, MI / 2024Rankings StateRank: 116 / POS: 25
Report: Switch hitting outfielder with a projectable 6 foot 3 frame. Generates natural lift at the plate with the potential for more power to come with added strength. Name to watch this spring as OLSM is looking to replace a number of key contributors off last year’s team. |
