What's New In The Top 10
Broder Katke C / 3B / Brother Rice / 2027Report: Katke remains at the top in MI for the 2027 class. Broder who wrapped up his freshman campaign at Brother Rice earned his way into an everyday starter for the Warriors helping lead them to the Division I state finals. Broder would continue that solid play into the summer scene. Look for Katke to make another jump during his Sophomore year. |
Jackson Fossitt LHP / 1B / Leslie / 2027Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
Report: Fossitt worked his way into the rotation for Leslie, leading them in a number of pitching statistics during his first varsity season. A large framed southpaw with a mid 80s fastball, we expect Fossitt to make a larger impact on the Leslie staff and continued development. |
Jaxon Gatt OF / RHP / Detroit Catholic Central / 2027Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Report: A physical athlete with speed and power at 6’2 215 lbs, Gatt showed why he’s near the top of his class. A Super Sophomore attendee and FR at DCC, Gatt displayed power to the pull side and a strong arm up to 87 on mound, 93 mph from outfield and a consistent EV in the low 90s. |
Cash Moczydlowsky RHP / 3B / New Boston Huron / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 4
Report: Coming off a stellar showing at the Midwest Super Sophomore Games, Cash has earned a spot in the Top 10. While he might not have a bonafide fastball, yet, he does posses a three pitch arsenal. Cash showed ability to change eye levels and garner a few swings and miss on the slider while flashing a changeup for soft contact. An exciting arm to follow into Spring 2025. |
Notable Newcombers
Logan Exner OF / RHP / Southgate Anderson / 2027Rankings StateRank: 21 / POS: 3
Report: A recent transfer from Gabriel RIchard, Exner was able to jump onto the radar in early June after attending TPG Trials at Michigan. A versatile athlete posting a 6.82 60 time, 87 from outfield and upper 80s exit velocity makes Exner an exciting follow downriver. |
Cale Hackenberg C / 3B / Marcellus / 2027Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 4
Report: It had been twelve months since we had seen Hackenberg, but it is fun to see transformation who is now 6’1 175. Hackenberg came into the Western MI ID and left a noticeable performance. Cale showed off his solid footwork and transfer with accurate throws while putting together a solid round of BP working middle of the field. A name to follow in SW Michigan for years to come. |
Isaiah Jackson C / C / Battle Creek Lakeview / 2027Rankings StateRank: 76 / POS: 12
Report: An up and coming name to follow for the Lakeview Spartans, Jackson made a strong impression this summer. A multisport athlete, Jackson produced many line drives and solid contact working mainly middle of diamond. Showcased an accurate arm with a tight, quick release from behind the plate. 7.04 runner that will improve in this area, but plays faster during the game. |
Summer Showcase Standouts
Colin Bennett RHP / 1B / Novi / 2027Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Report: Continuing to make gains on the hill, the Novi Wildcat flashed a developing power fastball at Super Sophomore Games running it up to 90 mph. A strong frame, 6-3 195, Bennett also had a number of whiffs on the breaking ball. A name to follow in this 2027 class who is looking to do big things and follow in brother’s footsteps, a Clemson signee. Expect Benett to take on a larger role for Novi in Spring 2025. |
Memphis Wirtz 1B / 3B / Battle Creek Lakeview / 2027Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 1
Report: Wirtz let opposing pitchers start to know name this spring and into the summer. A standout at TPG Underclass with the bat, Wirtz earned an invite to the MWSSG at Indiana. A big frame at 6’3 215, the ball comes off with authority in BP with some ease, but more impressively the sound footwork around the bag at first. Wirtz will continue to make jumps this offseason, setting up for a breakout Sophomore campaign at Lakeview. |
Taber Edwards-Benner SS / RHP / Midland / 2027Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 3
Report: Taber got put to the fire early and often for Midland this spring as he played a number of roles for the Chemics spending time at 3B, 2B and contributing innings off the mound as well. More advanced at the plate currently, he has also shown consistency on the infield up to 82 across the diamond. Also showed well at Indiana University for the Midwest Super Sophomore Games knocking a couple hits & closing out Sunday’s finale v. Kentucky. Edwards-Benner looks to make another step in the right direction this offseason. |
Tre Eitniear SS / RHP / Ottawa Lake Whiteford / 2027Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 6
Report: Eitniear is versatile on the infield and gives value on the mound into the upper 80s with a fastball and plenty of strikes off the mound. A simplistic approach and swing, Tre had a couple hits at MWSSG, but also had a strong summer, participating in numerous PBR Tournaments for State-Line Stars. |
