2025 Minnesota High School Team Previews: Volume IV

Prep Baseball Minnesota strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. Prep Baseball is the number one resource for high school baseball in each state that we cover through various events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work together, creating each state's most potent high school baseball promotion source. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

As we prepare for the upcoming 2025 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

EAST RIDGE RAPTORS

Head Coach: Brian Sprout (208-133 career)

2024 Record: 21-6, Class 4A State Champion

Coach's Comment:
"The East Ridge Raptors will be younger this year after graduating 17 seniors. We will continue to stress pitching, defense, and situational hitting. The tough play in the Suburban East Conference will prepare us to try to make a deep postseason run."

MAPLE GROVE CRIMSON

Head Coach: Jeff Peterson (3 seasons, 42-30)

"We are returning most of our starters this season and have a strong group of returners who have grinded for two seasons at the varsity level the past two seasons as Freshman and Sophomores. Our pitching will be our strong point, if we can put runs on the board we will have a successful 2025 campaign. We have a ton of arms returning this season as sophs and juniors who are very good on the hill. Our pitching should be really good! Got to hit the ball and we can go a long ways."

SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN STARS

"Have some strong returners at the plate and in the field and seniors Melvin Maldonado and Ben Lindberg will lead the way. We lost significant pitching due to graduation however Zach Trettin is a big time pitcher to lead the staff."

"After going 16-2 in conference last year and setting a program record of 24 wins in a season, we return 3 of our top 4 pitchers and are also adding some strong new arms. Pitching will definitely be the strength of this team. We did lose our whole infield and two starting outfielders to graduation, but we have some guys who got experience on varsity last year as well as a deep group of guys coming up who will create great competition and depth around the diamond. We believe we have a team capable of defending both our conference and section titles."

OWATONNA HUSKIES
