2025 Minnesota High School Team Previews, Volume XIV

Prep Baseball Minnesota strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. Prep Baseball is the number one resource for high school baseball in each state that we cover through various events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work together, creating each state's most potent high school baseball promotion source. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

As we prepare for the upcoming 2025 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

MARSHALL TIGERS

Head Coach: Chace Pollock (12 seasons, 191-80)

"We return about half of our starting lineup from last year. The kids have worked hard in the summer and offseason, so were excited to see what lies ahead this spring."

EASTVIEW LIGHTNING

Head Coach: Pat Strey (2 seasons, 32-24)

Coach's Comment:
"The Lightning look to return to the 4A State Tournament by repeating as Section 3A champions. The Lightning return Ben Schmitz at SS, Jake Haagenson on the mound and in the outfield, and Owain Hewitt behind the plate, with each of these players playing a pivotal role in their trip to the State Tournament last season. The Lightning look to lean on their defense and athleticism, and are excited to compete in the tough South Suburban Conference again this season."

WILLMAR CARDINALS

"We had a very young team in 2024 and put together a strong season.  I expect to see a lot of growth from our players that already have 1-2 full seasons of varsity experience under their belts.  Most of our pitching depth is returning this season along with our core defensive positions.  We have several players that have a lot of versatility defensively to fill in the holes left from our graduated seniors from 2024."

CLOUQET LUMBERJACKS

Head Coach: Tyler Olin (4 seasons, 29-60)

"We lose innings on the mound but return our entire lineup/defense. We hope to stay healthy and compete for the section!"

SIBLEY EAST WOLVERINES

Coach's Comment:
"After starting last season 1-6, we went on a 12-5 run to end the season. We were able to carry that momentum into a strong playoff run and a 3rd place finish in our section. A lot of the younger guys on the team also went on to play on the Junior Legion (17U) that qualified for the state tournament, defeating Montevideo in the first round, before losing to Holdingford and St. Charles."

We will need some younger guys to step up and contribute."

APPLE VALLEY EAGLES
